Nope, thank God ! It was my dad's company car that he ended up buying for me. However, growing up, we had quite a few "wood" paneling station wagons.

1989 Buick Lesabre. Yeah she only got like 12 miles to the gallon, but she was a beaut. Had to caulk the rim to stop the leaking from the rain. Best seats ever though.

20k, got 10k after basic then 5k at 1 year and 5k at 2 years. I don't think the taxes were bad actually.

Edit: I was 17, i didn't pay attention to taxes

I got an 89 on the ASVAB and still wanted to be an 11B, the other bonuses were all around 5-10. Infantry was 20, my best friend got killed 2 months prior so i was choosing 11B either way. Biggest regret in my life, should of done satellite or something i could of transferred to Civ

Yeah that explains it. Post 9/11 bonuses got crazy for a while. I was in with kids who got 40-45k for 3 year enlistments. They are offering crazy money for NG right now too, especially for prior service.

I forgot my ASVAB score but I do recall my GT score being 109 and not high enough to choose any MOS I wanted.

1976 Datsun B210. Primer, no paint. Street signs welded in place where the floorboards used to be. Loved that car. Door locks and ignition worked using a butterknife.
