Quite frankly, I'd rather he not get traded.

But I would just be happy for him to get out of this poophole of a team / management and move on. Patches has been a good guy, good team player, and good for the community - does not deserve to be poop on like this.

Agreed, it's not like the team could easily replace his production. I'm not sure to what extent his relationship with management is broken, but the consensus seems to be that there's just no going back. It's gonna be a hell of a job for the PR department if they sign him and decide to keep him long term.

He's a UFA next summer, a bit too old for a rebuild and one of the few pieces that mtl has that have value to get something in a trade. It doesn't mean he's not good or he's not a good guy.

Of course not. It's kind of silly that people blame him for refusing the deal with LA... It's business for management, and for the players as well, so thinking about your own interests is totally reasonable
