I think if we really looked objectively at what he's done with players and coaches, he's had a really good off season response to last years nightmare. They aren't going to finish top 3 in the Atlantic, but if Price is Price the Habs are a dif team. We will see though...

Whether we get last, wild card, or first in the Atlantic is irrelevant until we have a real (frank)ing center because recent playoff history has made their importance abundantly clear. Some added mobility on D is needed as well, which makes the Sergachev trade hurt alot in that sense, though I still believe it's not a terrible trade. Price is a great goalie when healthy, but the problem is he's made of tissue paper. To me, the only way they can win the Pacioretty situation is to maximize return because either he walks for free when they aren't anywhere near contending or they sign him to an ugly contract as he turns 30.

there's absolutely no way Habs end up winning the Pacioretty situation.
they won't have a decent return if they trade him, they won't sign a good contract if they extend him, they'll get nothing if he walks.... any way you look at it, they're (frank)ed.

Lastly, no stats show Shinkaruk is better...in fact if you look at the stats, Rychel is better.
