Fair enough

But I’m still not dogging anyone else’s opinions here

If anyone is doing that it’s you,
like when u called me Gerbe

- jdfitz77

after week 1, I wanted allen on the bench all year

after week 2, I bought an Allen jersey saturday, and making plans to come home for the home opener if he is the starter

the gerbe was a jab at his 2-14 prediction, which is what I think aj or nate gets us closer to if allen is on the bench all year

kid is going to be really good, and I didn't want the bills to draft him

rich gannon had an all pro year when he was 40

everyone else still sucked on their second and third teams

- homiedclown

I just think it’s nonsensical to say we could “ruin” him by playing him too early.

None of it makes sense.

You can absolutely pull him if he’s that bad too.

Guys don’t sit anymore, unless they are behind pro-bowlers.

Coaches are coaching for their jobs. They aren’t letting a rare talent sit and learn while they lose games and piss off fans

In my work a person would lose their gig fighting so hard for so long and then admitting they hadn’t finished their homework.

But I don’t pitch my ideas to people trying to get drunk fast.

the o line sucked for all 3 drives, and allen got points on all 3 drives

we were outclassed up to when allen got in by the f@cking browns

- homiedclown

The Browns have always had a good defense. They were 14th in total defense last year despite winning 0 games. How the (frank) does that happen?

Hopefully he can grab the reins and earn the spot. It will be fun to again watch a QB who can & will actually throw the damn ball. Definitely could say he showed improvement week 2. Showed some poise in the pocket, smart decisions and holy poop, what an arm.
Links to all 10 minutes worth of Allen's plays this preseason.

I will say just from this short look, that if he's playing I will be taking the ride down to Joe Robbie/I forget wtf they call it now/Stadium for first time in many moons.

Yeah, true.

I mean, who has more pressure? Peterman, who knows that there is a talented rookie who people will be calling for after his first incomplete pass, or Allen who knows he’s here and will get as many chances as possible?

IMO it’s easier for Peterman to implode in this scenario

IMO, so far...

#1 Allen
#2 Peterman
#3 AJ

And i have watched all 60 minutes of both games.....

I was hoping for the other Josh in the draft but so far, Josh from Wyoming has under-promised and over-delivered.

Case Keenum was growing on me at free agent time, and drafting ruldolph in second rd

I heard the bills board was mayfield/allen in that order

and clearly their plan was to get one of the rookie qb's they wanted

now we trust the process

and I don't think they get kelvin, star, and murphy to go 6-10 this year

it will get interesting sunday

Even if they go 6-10. This team is half done.

Defense has a solid core.

Edmunds
Phillips
White
Milano
Star
Johnson as slot corner

Need another starting corner in the future. And pass rusher

Offense has almost no future core outside of Dawkins, Allen, and maybe Zay.

I don’t think Benjamin stays

I think the Bills have handled it perfectly. There was no real big hype, they kept saying he needed to develop, yet every time they have the chance they promote him another step up. I have a feeling this was the plan the whole time, and if he faltered, oh well, they said he needed time to develop after all. But now that he's shown, so far, that he can handle whatever they throw at him, they can throw him in there.

That Murphy kid looks like the real deal so far. But they need a bushel full of WRs.

Let me put it this way...

If it’s not helpful for a QB to sit & develop,
then why do teams like the Packers draft Aaron Rodgers when they know they aren’t gonna start him right away?

Instead of drafting and developing Garrapolo, why didn’t Bellicheck just wait until Brady retired if he thought it was a good idea to start a rookie QB right away?

Why did Andy Reid still go with Alex Smith last year instead of Mahomes?

Are all of these great coaches wrong?

- jdfitz77

Been back reading and catching up from not being on too much over the weekend (except during the mornings when it has been pretty quiet here) and although I agree that it won't hurt him if Allen doesn't start right away, I also don't see how it would help him to sit either if he is far along enough to start. We don't have Rodgers, Brady or even Alex Smith for him to hold a clipboard for. Even bringing up Steve Young being bad in TB doesn't work. Yes, he probably benefited being a backup to the best damn quarterback to ever play the game, but would he have been as good if he was the backup to Ken Schroeder or Ken O'Brien? If the coach thinks he can handle the pressures of being the starter, then I'm all for it. If not, I'm fine with that as well. I really don't think there has been too many careers ruined by starting too soon. The Manziel's and Sanchez's of the NFL were never fit to be NFL quarterbacks to begin with, at least not franchise, team savior quarterbacks.
