Provy+Ghost will be one of the best top pairings in the NHL for the next 8-10 years

change my mind

By the end of camp, the Flyers will do the smart thing and put Ghost at his natural position, left wing.

It's not something that I would do personally, but a number of the brilliant minds on here have been saying it's the smart thing to do for quite some time.

Shows what you know he would be way better at right wing. That way we can trade Simmonds and require B Schenn.

Giroux at goalie is what the team needs to win.

Anyone else notice that when players leave the Flyers then people come out of the woodwork to "give them credit" or tell everyone how they will be missed?

Question: Unless Phil Myers steps up and plays better than Hagg did last year, are the Flyers better on D now? That is all. If you say "absolutely", well you are entitled to your uninformed opinion.

Thing is, Winnipeg is in win now mode. If I am the Jets I do everything possible to keep Trouba.

Imo its going to have to be either Myers or Sanheim that develop into that next tier kind of d-man the team can rely on to eat minutes. While the Flyers are loaded with prospects I do think its slightly questionable about whether there is enough "ceiling" there. Myers and Sanheim have the ability to reach that next tier, they are near untouchable to me.

Trouba is going to cost you a damn pretty penny.

Well said. If the Flyers didn't get a Dman (or 3C) this summer, they are clearly not going to fix their holes through trades or free agency. And Hexy has shown a talent for not overpaying players. So no Trouba. I am worried we will have to wait for Hogberg before the Flyers D is solid.

The best thing the Flyers can do with Sanheim is to let him develop. Has the potential to be better than Trouba.

He played a shutdown roll and 1st pair pk minutes for one of the best teams in the league last season at the age of 23. Is he an offensive stud? No, but he makes a good first pass has a decent point shot and is far from unskilled.

edit: Again, I like Sanheim, but some around here act like he’s the 2nd coming of Mark Howe. He hasn’t done anything noteworthy at the NHL level to date. I think he’ll end up a good NHL player but it’s not a given.

- BiggE

Myers and Kulikov played more SH minutes per game. I would rather have Josh Morrissey. He allowed Trouba to look as good as he did.

So you're saying that anyone who thinks that young players such as Hagg, Sanheim, Provorov, and Gostisbehere can all improve and become better players this season is uninformed?

The Flyers lost Manning and added Frolin.

Ghost isn't one of the top 20 D in the league in his eyes so remember the D is worse no matter what because Manning is the only subtraction. Holy crap that must mean Manning is one of the top 20 D in the league. How could Ronald let him walk.
