damn..
dont hate on Mandog..
He played his role to the best of his ability..and yes..he got punched a lot but he jumped in every time.
And lets not forget he literally tried to kill McJeebus said by everyone Oilers fan. - opeth_pa
I have no issue with Manning, more of an issue of how much and in which situations he was deployed. |

Not thinking that the Flyers have to have a pure sniper to win. I think they already have enough offense with the addition of JVR, growth of TK, Patrick and others, and the prospects that are coming. They definitely need a top pairing RH defenseman. I would like that trade sooner rather than later. Let’s see....Erik Karlsson

Trouba. It would require less to get him versus EK. Let the young forwards continue to develop. We've added a 30 goal guy in JvR and Simmonds will be healthy. G and Jake will have another strong year even if they don't exceed last year's point totals.
This is the problem with August!!!! |

3 or 4 years ago I would agreed on Erik Karlsson but Im not sure it makes sense for where the team is and how they are trying to get to their end game.
Hedman, different story but you arent getting him without destroying the team. |

I think having all these prospects being close to NHL ready pushes the vets. If Lehtera, Raffl, Weise, etc. don't bring it in camp, they don't deserve it.
Best move by Hexy last season, IMO, was bringing Goulbourne up for those games. Team needed a spark and that sent a message to the team. All this talk this summer about our young guys should be pushing everyone, especially the bubble players. |

Almost certain Minnesota signed him to a deal. Not sure if they would deal. I went with Trouba because I feel Winnipeg is looking to deal. |

I think I disagree that Trouba could be pried away very easily. |

Not saying very easily. Just maybe less of a haul than acquiring EK. Winnipeg has some serious decisions to make regarding cap. |

With a bad year next season, Wild may look to rebuild. Winnipeg has a young core, should remain competitive, can’t see them willing to part with a piece that fits well and is hard to replace. |

Cap issues do sometimes force an issue, true. I think with EK, the biggest thing is availability for his level, RHD, is so very rare and at age 28. |

Trouba and Jets haven't been able to agree on deal. I think it would be him or Tyler Myers on the move to make room for the signings they need to make. Laine is up next year and a few others.
But, their Cup window is pretty open right now. Trouba under contract. We'll see. |

You could be right. I mean, you have vets thinking, "I am sitting in favor of THIS GUY?" Because if Goulbourne proved anything, its that he is not an NHL level talent. He won't be the call up guy this season. |

Just my 2 cents, but Trouba is a tad overrated. But he's better than Gudas, AMac, and until further development Haag and Sanheim.
Basically I wouldn't give up what the Jets would want for him . |

Trouba is not a top pair defenseman. He is a younger AMac. He isn't even a top two minutes PK Dman player for the Jets, and the Jets protect him with 50-50 ZS.
There were much better, cheaper options for the Flyers to get a real partner for Provy. They passed, so Provy will be forced to waste his offensive upside for now.

I don't think Manning got enough credit for his play in the offensive zone. It's very telling that every player the Flyers did not bring back quickly found gainful employment (in read's case once his agent gave up on getting an unrealistic payday). If some of the prospects step up, the Flyers will be better, but its something of a roll of the dice |

Waste his offensive upside? If your expectations of Provorov is to become some high flying 60-70+ point producing defensemen, then your expectations are way too unrealistic and definitely not what the Flyers need.
They need Provorov to be an all-situation rock that can eat minutes, be a calming influence on the back end while putting up a solid 40-50 points. He is well on his way of becoming that. Provorov was not drafted to be an Erik Karlsson. |

Good article comparing similar d men. Very interesting. Also, Trouba is behind Big Buff in that line up. Not sure what asking price would be but i would hope Flyers would be interested.

Not sure why raffl is in that mix. He’s pretty safe I’d bet. |
