Boat does have to stop and open the door. JB has to make that boat want to stop though.

Not going to walk away from every deadline with a major win though. The occasional win for our trash is a win in my books.

We could use as asst. GM just for trades and negotiations, someone like this.

I think he starts in Utica, he plays well and forces a trade when another team has a LHD go down which allows us to move Hutton/MDZ.

Sounds about right to me πŸ‘

He has no trade value and his ability to play both sides makes him worth while to keep for this season. Deal him at the deadline if you can get the pick back.

Next year you have Hughes and Joulevi coming in full time on the left.

I hope Edler is dealt at the deadline and then resigned in the off season.

Tryamkin probably comes back next season.

Then you have Stetcher, Tanev and Gudbranson.

Hopefully Florida is pushing for a playoff spot and comes sniffing around to get Gudbranson back.

- mauryballstein

I can see Hughes as a RHD if needed. He did say he is comfortable on either side. I saw an interview with him saying he struggles with hard pass one-timers on the right side & needs to work on that.

Tanev, Gudbranson, Stecher are all locked up for a couple of years. Edler, Pullout, MDZ, Hutton all free agents at the end of the season. OJ and Hughes LHD. Can see them slot in if they are ready next season. If not Van has to sign some more free agents. Overpay and extra term. modified NTC's

The right side is such a huge problem for this team moving forward.

You hope that between: Woo, Stetcher, Chattfield and Matt Brassard that you end up with a legit 2nd and 3rd pairing RHD.

That top pairing RHD is something that needs fixing immediately and it does not appear to be any help in this upcoming draft. So if I am them take the top rated Center in the upcoming draft unless a crazy difference in talent. Then literally just start tossing darts at the dart board for RHD.

- mauryballstein

Top RHD has been a historic need throughout the league. Canada for some strange reason predominantly produces many more lefties vs righties at every position.

I agree have to make up for that Joe Levy pick! They can't all be Sam Bennetts!

There are three RHD in the top 10 second round next year . Canucks should be on that like flies on poop
- VANTEL

Which 3? Byram is a LHD

I'm thinking more back room, some place with access to an alley, a place to privately throw stuff in a dumpster, also with private parking for the van to drive people to the airport.

Who in the world said I dont like that they suck now?

My problem is that they suck and they havent done anything to acquire picks and prospects in the last 4 years.

We finish at the bottom every year and every year we have less picks than we should.

I hope we come dead last this season and the next one.

We have 2 huge holes. Top pairing RHD and #1 Center.

FIll one this year and then load up on RHD lotto tickets and hopefully you get lucky and find a Keith or Klinberg in the later rounds.

- mauryballstein

How do we acquire picks with the assets we had/have to trade?

4ths & 5ths are nothings.
As for prospects we have traded for them.

It must be. Saw no names or trade ideas but magic works for me. Where can it be bought? πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

If you are drafting top 10 you need to pay attention to BPA all rounds after draft for needs

I think the only trades that will happen this year are MDZ Gagner Hutton and maybe Gudbrandson .

If Gudbrandson has a good year no way Jim is trading him

- VANTEL

Sutter will be on pace for a 50 point season finally and will be gone at TDL.

Havent heard about Marky or Nilsson training with anybody unique this offseason. They understand Demko is taking over.
- manvanfan

Without a doubt. Don't be shocked if there is trade talks around Markstrom and Nilsson all year long.
