I would be happy with Edler Hughes OJ next year with Tanev ???? ????

The right side is such a huge problem for this team moving forward.

You hope that between: Woo, Stetcher, Chattfield and Matt Brassard that you end up with a legit 2nd and 3rd pairing RHD.

That top pairing RHD is something that needs fixing immediately and it does not appear to be any help in this upcoming draft. So if I am them take the top rated Center in the upcoming draft unless a crazy difference in talent. Then literally just start tossing darts at the dart board for RHD.

Id gladly take him but I think they would want more than what his value is. I see him as a 2nd pairing guy. I am not to worried about finding that if we dont have it already.

Plus he is cheap so why deal him? Just play him with Hamhuis on the 3rd pair.

No, drafted by Nashville 3rd round 2016.

Played his 1st season in the AHL last season. 24 points in 55 games. RHD.

Tanev is 28 only he should still have 6 good years in him. If the focker could stay healthy it would take a lot of pressure off just like Edler does. I think Woo plays one year jr one year Comets and ready or not he is better than Stecher

Left handed players can play on the left.(not that I would approve of it for long) Fixing the right side should be done the same way the rest of the team is being fixed. Draft and develop.

As you said Tanev still has years left as does the rest of the right side. It's not pretty but it could get it done while Woo and others develop.

Yes .

I can see targeting Myers but I would not go all in . There will be many teams wanting to pay his salary . It is going to cost

He has no trade value and his ability to play both sides makes him worth while to keep for this season. Deal him at the deadline if you can get the pick back.

Next year you have Hughes and Joulevi coming in full time on the left.

I hope Edler is dealt at the deadline and then resigned in the off season.

Tryamkin probably comes back next season.

Then you have Stetcher, Tanev and Gudbranson.

Hopefully Florida is pushing for a playoff spot and comes sniffing around to get Gudbranson back.

- mauryballstein

I agree with him being traded, but i dont want him back. Benning isnt known for doing it but if he can get more assets for taking Phaneuf from LA at the deadline,id much rather him over Edler. Plus LA is going to be in trouble cap wise so will need to get rid of him

Subban, Ellis, Weber on the roster already.

Fabbro and Allard drafted 2016
Jack Doughtry drafted 2014
Alexander Carrier drafted 2015

Vladislav Yeryomenko just drafted in 2018

That's how you build the right side of a defence.

Myers will be 29 by then too. I'd stay away unless he's coming for a decent deal and term.

Like you said we already have a set RHD and it is not sexy but it is reliable until the team has players ready to replace them

Im down for any trade that brings back assets. Like you said benning doesnt have a forward thinking bone in his body. There were some great deals to be had this year, not big deals but nice deals to take on players with not so great contracts.

Im hoping to get 2 RHD in the top 3 rounds at least. Im hoping for a Edler and Sutter trade to bring extra picks in those rounds. Maybe even Gudbranson could get a 2nd or a 3rd. I want a big overhaul for next seasons on defense.

Depends what his value is. If its a good deal then move him if teams only offer poop then keep him.

The teams that did do that type of deal did not do too well. I think Chicago fleeced the Coyotes

I think the only trades that will happen this year are MDZ Gagner Hutton and maybe Gudbrandson .

If Gudbrandson has a good year no way Jim is trading him

Where do you plan on finding all these NHL ready bodies once you have traded others away?

Or is the idea to suck again even though you don't like that they suck now?
