FACTS

Here is a fact you might like as a Flyers fan.

Giroux actually cries to the refs as much as people like to pretend Crosby does. He's one of the worst in the league for it.

That's why he's such a decorated player. Got Cups coming out the ying yang.

Fortunately for Leafs fans, I've a sneaky suspicion they're gonna ice more than just Tavares when they hit the ice.

Do you really think it was a long shot that he signed in his hometown? Lol if it wasnt the Isles it was always going to be the leafs. Id say the odds were better that he signed in TO than in the island.

Last 5 years:

Giroux: 386 points in 405 games = .953 PPG

Tavares: 372 points in 378 games = .984 PPG

I've never held any interest in watching Giroux. He just doesn't interest me as a player.

How about some Giroux diving compilations instead?

I'd like him on our team. He'd be a great 4th line C for us. (Have to limit his minutes since he's a liability)

We've gone from career, to last 5 years, to now last season.

(frank), it'll be game by game soon. Then period by period and finally shift by shift.

You're (frank)ing unravelling man.

He’s 9th amongst active players (at least 500 points) in points-per-game, but he’s not elite.

(Giroux is 10th)

He’s 6th amongst active players (at least 200 goals) in goals-per-game. But still not elite.

Why do Leafs threads draw so much critiquing and vitriol? How long should they have to wait to win another Cup? Has the suffering not gone on long enough? No matter what site I visit it's always the same. Throw as much shade as you can at the Leafs. Isn't that sort of treatment saved for perennial winners? I understand Golden State from the NBA or the Gretzky led Oilers or any other prolific team that has won multiple titles. But why the hate for the Leafs?? Just don't get it.....

You guys should do the Stanley Cup parade the afternoon of your first home game. Get it out of the way up front.

I really like that idea. Stanley Cup parades before the season even starts. Where is the parade route in Toronto? Lol This is fishing with grenades

We've already done it. We included it in the Marlies Calder Cup parade.

You're way too late.

Anyone who thinks that Taveras is not an elite player is just a schmuk! Plain and simple no matter what team he roots for. Now you put him in a situation where he is centering a line and another star is centering a different line. Which line do you send out your top defense pairing against? Then you have a 30 goal scorer as a 3rd line center? If they get solid goaltending, the Leafs may be only a defenseman away from being a Cup team.

Agreed. I really don't see anything stopping them. Although if Kadri can crack the thirty goal mark again, I will be amazed. He will watch most power plays from the bench so he will have to be the best 5v5 player in the league. I think he will have to be willing to accept a role adjustment which will include pk specialist extrordinaire. I think he can accomplish that but his numbers will undoubtedly decline drastically if your in a pool. There is only so much candy to go around and there are many to feed

I agree he is likely to see less prime ice time with the addition of Taveras but you still have a player with that ability centering your 3rd line who is also strong away from the puck. Come playoff time that depth up the middle is killer.
