Kudos to Clown if Allen is the starting QB in week #1. He called it a while ago.

Yes you did. Allen has really stepped up in the past 2 weeks. Quite honestly, he is progressing faster than i thought. I thought year 1 was going to be a clipboard year for him.

It looks like the plan all along was to get him working with the 3's so they could see who'd be better between AJ and Nate. Then Josh went out and himself a very good game last week, so they promoted him. If the same promotion happens this week where he's spending half his time with the 1's and the rest with the 2's they'll put both Nate and Josh at first team for the game because it's the 3rd game and that's when the starters play most, AJ out is almost a blessing in that they don't need to try and cram 3 guys in with the first team. And if everything else is equal it's gotta go to Josh as the week 1 starter. If only because he's, so far, clearly the best guy.

And I hated the pick when it was made. I wanted Mayfield and then Rosen, but I did say Allen had the talent to be the best in the class. I just questioned whether or not he'd get there. Still do, but he's already way better than I thought.

5th round draft pick. Just don't see him as a starter. His arm strength is like Chad Pennington. But at least he was a first round pick.

I am willing to give him the chance, but I just feel it will be obvious that there can be better.

It’s also obvious that Allen can’t read defenses and needs A LOT of work still

Kids has tons of talent, BUT...
No need to rush him before he’s ready
Allen shouldn’t start before week 12ish

My thoughts exactly. He hasn’t faced a first teM defense yet that is scheming for him yet. Even last night he missed a blitz pickup that even I saw the safety sneaking down in the formation. Took a sack

Anybody else notice that The Athletic Buffalo only has one article about the game last night?

You're probably right.

BTW, I was up in Toronto on July 20 and July 22 to see Radiohead and Arcade Fire. It
is such a great scene. So diverse and everyone is so cool.

Was up in New Toronto last week to watch the Rogers Cup ATP Tour quarterfinals on
Friday on York University campus. Great venue. Again, great people.

whoa wtf

Canada has the superior music scene to America and it's not even close.

Couldn’t you tell that Allan crashed at Nelson’s condo during camp. His composure is near Nelson level now, exciting times.

I said it when they drafted him. And I didn’t like the pick.

There was no way he was sitting behind AJ McCarron.

Just like Watson was never going to sit behind Tom Savage.

If we had an Alex Smith, that’s a different story

I think you guys are calling this race over well before it is over. Peterman has been solid in both games. He's still in the lead imo

if the bills o line is going to be brutal vs the pass rush, and they might

would you rather have peterman or josh allen?

Allen would be more fun to watch, but:

I don't want the pressure of the season to ride on Allen. That murderers' row of defenses in the first four games with our shaky o line could destroy his confidence (or his body). I don't necessarily want the Bills to throw those games away, or sacrifice the season by playing Peterman, but at the same time, i think long term, it would be better to let him sit a few weeks. If Peterman goes 1-3, throw Allen in there and the pressure is off. If he somehow goes 8-4, awesome, but more likely he goes 6-6, gains experience, and the Bills can get him some Oline and receiver help in the draft.

But the decision might not be based on winning this year - it might be based on best long term for the franchise.

the great qb's, coaches find out pretty early they are special

peyton, aikman, elway all got thrown to the wolves early and turned out just fine

you do not sign star, murphy, bring back kyle, sign ivory, keep shady to be a 4-12 team

Our o line is below average.

Like I said, I'm good with either outcome. I think Peterman had something like a 150 QB rating (I know- that metric sucks) with the threes last night, and he looked solid last week. I still think he's in the lead because McD has always liked him. I'm fine with him playing as well. I see him being a Bill for a long time in a backup role.

Whoever starts next week is probably the guy. And for the love of God, sign Matt Simms to play game four. We need both of these guys
