Fair enough, I just never really liked the guy. I always felt he was one of the ringleaders in the whole players vs Bill Barber mess and I lost a lot of respect for him after that at. But yeah, based purely on his performance on the ice, I'd rate him over Jake.

The differences are:

A. Can't blame the player (Gratton) for taking the ridiculous amount of money Clarke gave him.

B. Unlike Daigle, Gratton actually wanted to be a hockey player

C. and also unlike Daigle, Gratton actually produced on the ice. He may not have produced to our expectations, but he did a hell of a lot more than Daigle.

Completely objective I know but in my opinion Recchi over Voracek is a no brainer and it's not close.

Players that make it to the stage such as the National Hockey League, do not suck. Even the favorite whipping boys, do not suck. Even the bottom 6 guys would make us all look foolish in a men's league.


I tend to never use the word "suck" when speaking about hockey players, even those in the lower leagues. To me it is simply disrespectful to men who have reached a peak of some sort in their careers.

Off topic as hell, but if anyone hasn't watched the show "Alone" its a must see.

10 people out in the wilderness of Vancouver Island, Patagonia and Mongolia (more than one season).

Basically see who can survive the longest with only a few items they can bring, and they tape themselves so no camera crew.

Gratton was coming off of a 30 goal season at the age of 21-22. i honestly thought it was a good move at the time.
