Okay Don Cherry.
- pker2theend

I wondèred how long it would take before some _____, made that claim. Just because someone questions the playing style of a player, they are Don Cherry, what a ridiculous thing to say.
Btw, I can't stand Don Cherry.
Edit; because I am not a sheep and don't follow the shepherd, therefore I am Don Cherry...(frank) me.

That Summer Showcase didn't Boqvist any favors.

He played like trash.
Hands down the worst out of the big 4 d-man taken.

Me too. Lol.
Btw Not trying too be negative about the pick, I just don't like to get all excited about certain types of players.

- Reubenkincade

I think you answered your own question about Quinn Hughes and Noah Dobson. "types of players".

I don't see Dobson being a true number #1 personally. I also don't see Hughes as a #1 either.

Hughes will probably put up more points then Dobson will. Dobson will probably have a more rounded out defensive game then Hughes ever will.

Vancouver needs both players but could only draft 1.

The reason i disliked the pick was because JB has been talking about a RHD for so long. There doesn't project to be many real good RHD next season. Quite a few LHD again though.

We all know what the depth chart looks like in Vancouver about 15 guys on the left and 2 on the right.

Agreed on this! The Swedes were missing some of their top players but Boqvist was distinctly underwhelming. Up front, Oliver Wahlstrom was also very quiet for the U.S. among the top prospects.

That is somewhat true...moreso that I don't like America, I have met and worked with many fine Americans and I never cheer for them in any international event.😁

The reason why im excited over hughes is completely about trend. The game has drifted away from the 2011 bruins who were big and strong, and is now skilled/fast. Ive read a ton of of those "top 20 players" and the common theme amongst all the top 20 voted D is that they were all offensive (while being somewhat sound defensively). Hughes fits that bill, juolevi (to a lesser extent). I totally get your hesitation though

@ Reuby lol

Chicago and edmomton will regret Dobson. No problems with hughes though. I think he will be a top pairing dman just because he will be constantly carying play.

Like Petterson before him, I hope they both prove me wrong.
I will have no problem eating crow if these players become very good players for our Canucks.

As Canadians in a strong hockey market like Vancouver. Why should we care about Vancouver games being broadcast in the US, it's simply irrelevant. It like on Sportsnet there's a link to "Leafs a draw for US broadcasters", who cares about this perception! We are Canadian there viewership doesn't matter at all. Brock Boeser is a Vancouver Canuck he will one day get his fame but the Canucks are the worst team in the league. What does anyone expect? International fame?

Because if the US shows enough interest in Canadian teams, the league might allow a team north of the border to finally win the cup.

Pretty hefty signing for Ellis.
He’s worth it, but I wonder how long the Preds can keep that D core together?

lol ya ironically enough the Oil made the PO's after Halls first year gone...then Hall wins the Hart the year after and the Oil can't make the PO's.

A lot of talk around here that Hall wanted the Oil to be 'his' team and co-existing with McJesus was going to be an issue. Hard to say how much of that is true but I'm sure it was a factor somewhat...it kept popping up.

- LordHumungous

But those two on the same team would benefit them both. Seems counterproductive.

I'm pretty sure if the Leafs ever won the cup this place would become too unbearable to visit.

Sounds like an excuse for Chia.

Hall seemed pissed after that trade, not a guy who was relieved or happy like Kesler/Luongo were.

I don’t think so. We wouldn’t see a leaf fan in here because they would be too busy jerking each other off.
