Hey, if Hedman can win the Hockeybuyzz Vezina, I expect Giroux to win the Jack Adams.
- jmatchett383

In all seriousness, Giroux's best bet of getting on a top list on HockeyBuzz is for best GM and we all know Jack Eichel will win that, seriously not being serious.

Not seriously serious, but that is seriously sad.

I have a feeling Giroux will get in

I am not sure he will retire in Philly, but I sure hope he does. He has 4 more years on this contract and lets say he averages 70 points during those 4. That puts him at 957 points for his career.

When all is said and done, is Claude Giroux a hall of famer?
- ClaudeFather

If he retired tomorrow? No, not a chance. If he plays 5 or 6 more seasons, finishes with 1100 or so points and Captains the Flyers to a Cup or two? Yes, absolutely.

trivia question...name the 3 guys with the most points scored in their career that aren't in the HHOF. this excludes Jagr, who technically isn't retired

Clarke finishing in the top 10 seven times shows you how consistently amazing he really was. It’s even more amazing when you factor in the additional wear and tear he took being the teams top penalty killer year after year. Now add in that he was 5’10 180 (which was in the small side even in the 70s) and diabetic.

This is why IMO, it’s not even close. Bobby Clarke was the greatest player in Flyers history. Lindros, from 93 to 99 was dominant, but Clarke was the best player on his team from about 1970 to the early 80s and led his team to two Cups, 4 trips to the finals, won 3 Hart trophies and was arguably the best two way forward of his era. The guy would kill himself to win a hockey game too. They just don’t make em like Clarkie anymore.

Mark Recchi
Dave Andreychuk
Michel Goulet

I think Gartner is in.

Crap, 2 of them just got in last year.

So did Andreychuk. Is Goulet one of the 3?

Edit: Also, Thornton is still playing.

I just cheated and looked. Assuming we're talking about players who are eligible (3 year waiting period), I only see one of them ever possibly getting in.

Happy birthday to Rod. One of the hardest working Flyers in history. I was very happy for him when he raised the cup. Probably only him and Kimmo, maybe Recchi.

I was happy for Richards and Gagne, too. Not so much Carter.

Good luck in AC. Hopefully you get a nice crowd at Proud Mary's. I was born and raised on Morris Ave and Fairmount. Just a few blocks away. Sending positive vibes.

I'm gonna go with Alexander Daigle and/or Tomas Sandstrom.

Tomas Sandstrom has been in my toilet, many times in fact, but never in my kitchen.

I loved Recchi as a player and he had his best career numbers in Philly, but I'll never think of him as a Flyer.

I don't think Iginla's eligible yet.
