I was starting to think this as well. For them not to include it as a voting option for specialty nights on the 50th anniversary is suspicious. I liked the version they used for the 40th season, the white V on the arm was a nice touch

Also to throw more FA conspiracies, I think that the V will win the "vote" because of the attention/outrage and the market has been tapped on spaghetti skate jersey sales from that one game. FA is all about the cash grab

Not supposed to be good. At the time that song came out that was the kind of music that was big, it's sort of a parody. The lonely island was a comedy rap group that inspired a ton of current comedic musicians, they got their start when Andy Samberg was on SNL.

Also if you've ever heard of the show Brooklyn Nine-Nine that's his current show. It's pretty funny

I am not sure if they inspired, but they did go a little more mainstream than Weird Al and Flight of the Concords in terms of music appeal. Apparently their movie Popstar was pretty funny too, but haven't got around to watching it on Netflix yet.

B-99 is one of the better shows on tv at the moment

Never been able to do country music, 90% of it sounds the same to me.

I'm not into rap or hip hop at all either beyond comedic stuff, I usually go for alt rock above all else

These guys cite Lonely Island and Flight of the Concords as their biggest inspirations. Hard to recommend a particular song as their stuff is so weird but their covers of 70s/80s rock are fantastic

I agree. If they were to continue with the birthing/constipated whale, it would be a HUGE marketing blunder. They will unveil the stick in rink uniform at the draft next summer. Jack Hughes will be the model?
