The argument that a player who signs in Phoenix (or Columbus, Dallas, Florida, Tampa etc) doesn't 'want to win' got the exact response it deserves. Stop trying to hold exaggerations to a literal standard and ask instead "what point is this guy making by exaggerating?'

Carlson is a great player, 60 points is great, but he's also feeding Ovechkin, arguably the best player in the NHL last year. The PP really stacks his value. Defensively though, he's not too good and his 5v5 isn't worth the money. I believe Larsson's is.

No one is saying OEL doesn't want to win, but some guys would like to stay with the team that drafted them and/or the non traditional markets, and hope they are able to build a winner, rather than chase the cup. Winning the cup isn't always a players number one priority. sometimes things like family (kids stay in one place/school/neigberhood), life style, lack of media coverage, teammates, taxes, cost of living, location, etc. are higher on the priority list.
