honestly, their p/60 is pretty close, and Matthews spent most of the year hurt, along with getting more defensive zone starts.
I'd take Matthews over him pretty easily... especially since Matthews has had more consistency so far. - Feeling Glucky?
Matthews also gets sloppy seconds on the PP while Mack is 1st unit with Rantanen. |

Speaking of real estate, from Garf's blog:
"Eichel is now the proud owner of a spacious, luxurious 3,451 square foot, tri-level townhouse, which comes complete with four-bedrooms and is located strategically near Eichel’s office adjacent to Lake Erie and the Erie Basin Marina. The sale price was $985,000, per the Office of the Erie County Clerk. Whaley purchased the townhouse for $752,000 in 2016."
3,451 square feet. four bedrooms. Under a million $.

Upon further examination, you pay a huge premium to see the Leafs.
Tickets are half the price for the next Saturday night vs. Ottawa - and about a third the price for weekday games. - Atomic Wedgie
If I didn't know any better I'd swear that this implies the Leafs are a huge draw and the demand to see them is so high that they can sell tickets to their games, even as the visiting team, for way more than the average team.
Do you think that this may also translate into why they get so much broadcast coverage for national games which corporate sponsors pay big bucks to advertise on?
Lol, just kidding. It's obviously east coast bias from CBC and the Toronto Sports Network plus all the favouritism the Leafs get from the NHL.

The Pens won 2 cups with 4 players taking up about 43% of the cap..But its not possible for the leafs to do that. - senstroll
If the Leafs guys get signed for what we expect it it entirely possible it is more like 50% that is a pretty significant difference.

I don't like McDavid's face.
At least until he's a Leaf 7 years from now.
I probably don't like McDavid as much as others since he hasn't showed anything against the Leafs - I do realise that's a small sample size.
And I think him being Canadian led to him being overhyped way too much. (yes, that is possible). - plantheparade

People seem to ignore these factors.
Why does Crosby/Malkin contracts look good right now? They were signed years ago |

There was a time frame when the cap moved very quickly.
It has not moved so quickly in the last few years (if I remember correctly)
