Ok first he's an Oilers fan, second, he actually pays money to be on this site, third he has a wrestling "personality" as his avvie. ) 0 for 3...
(I kid HTM)... just more fun stirring the pot than talking non-existent trade scenarios. |

Cyril Sneer was my first Avi on my account that got permabaned.
I was drunk trolling the nucks thread and wrote something that was so good I could not stop laughing.
When I woke up the next day I could not remember what it was. - DuranDuran
I still remember that lol.
I think EK had to tell the mods to tone it down on the bans because he was losing all his best client click bait posters.. |

Tkachuk is likely going to be a comparable player to Gabe Landeskogg, which is awesome, but what GM would hat an eye trading Landy for Karlsson if that was the ask?
Oh I’m sure many of you think Tkachuk will be so much more than that and you laugh at the comparison , but you all laughed at the Bennett/Darcy Tucker comparison, thinking he was more like Doug Gilmour when in reality he’s more like Scotty Upshall. - HonkyTonkMan
Nah man you just need to read the post you quoted again and try harder this time. |

Meh. This is just the usual Tre offer and wait scenario. It’s amazing how well it work tbh..

Kinda back to the topic Todd wrote except he needs to do another one. the players that will benefit the most from GG getting canned. Read a post where Bennett had his best year under Hartley, in his rookie season. The last two were under Mr insane player usage Gully coaching style. Really curious to see how well Benny rebounds this year.

Not even Tre, there's still about 10 pretty decent RFA's still unsigned. More par for the course |

Definitely an interesting thought. Bennett-Janko never seemed to have very much chemistry.. Peters likes to put his lines in a blender though!
Plus side: We’ll see Bennett in some key offensive situations from time to time.
Down side: We’ll see Derek Ryan in some key offensive situations from time to time. |

I'm pretty excited to see if he breaks out under a new coach. In case nobody noticed I wasn't a big fan of Glens. Can't think of a better spot for him but in Edmonton, running the power play. He'll have Chia convinced that he needs Brouwer to stand in front of the net, they'll sign him for a Lucic type deal! Pretty sure after Tre overpaying and still paying, they'll get him at a reasonable cost. |

Maybe over usage but I think he's a good signing, wouldn't be suprized if him and Bennett become a pair. Peters does like him. |

Ok, you can believe me or not, really dont care because I would bet $$$ Tkachuk would never ever ever be traded 1-1 in this scenario. I do have legit intel about DH's behavior & attitude after his brother was put on waivers. His lack of "give a fck" reverberated throughout the dressing room. He missed team functions but what sealed his fate out of town was missing the yearend meetings & interviews. Take what you want from that, I dont care.
So I look at your line up projection & I do hope you remember that there is a salary cap & how in God's green earth are you going to resign EK to a Doughty or Tavares deal & keep that projected line up?
You are willing to trade Tkachuk 20 years old & you have only seen the tip of what this kid could do? He got 50+ points playing with Backlund & Frolik & getting very little PP time. Im shocked we are having this debate. But thats ok, I like & usually agree with most of your posts but this one we can agree to disagree. - Kevin R
I'm Kinda of late to the party, just playing catch up but I guess Dougie is no longer Twitter Friends with a bunch of the flames. Where there is smoke there is usually fire.

You know when you put things in perspective, look at how crappy that year was when we were able to pick 4th over all & if I recall, not much better when we sucked big & picked Monahan. It sucked but the early picks also represented hope things would get better. 2 years Carolina sucked rocks, like real bad & the consolation prizes were Lindholm & Hanifin. How often do teams trade a21 & 23 year old top 5 pick in one trade. If I recall, Ferland was a 5th rounder, Fox a 2nd rounder & Hamilton was 1 mid first & 2 seconds. I get it, you cant judge the player by where they were picked, but how ofter do teams trade 2 players that young of that pedigree. I for one am stoked about the deal even though I know Hamilton is the best player currently in the deal.
Fox was going to (frank) us anyway & Ferland is going to be asking for a pretty handsome pay raise. I actually think he will have a career year & play with that edge that we loved about him. I just pity the team that gives him that pricey extension he's going to want. |

Actually, I see Tkachuk getting way more offensive responsibilities & having a great year. I have him pegged for my hockey pool at 25 goals & 40 assists. If things go well, he may blow past that forecast. |

You don’t think those 2players might have some warts Carolina was eager to trade away?

Hell yeah. We were seeing him take a huge step forward offensively before his injury. People that don’t watch the Flames play that much (most hockey fans) didn’t see that.
So many people just hate him for that slewfoot on Marinsin.
Gotta love how much Oil/Leafs hate him and write him off.
I like that Frolik led to a way longer injury via a slewfoot yet Chucky is the one with the bad reputation for doing it. |

Maybe, but given it's Carolina it's just as likely they didn't want to pay them. They have $18.5 million in cap space after trading Skinner... doesn't sound like a team who wants to pay players to me.
There were definitely some warts with Dougie though, as even though it hasn't been officially released, there is evidence that there was a locker room issue with him. Tre alluded to it when he talked after the trade, and apparently he and several Flames players are no longer Twitter friends.
So yeah, even if there are warts those two players bring, there were definitely some with Dougie, too. |

Yeah but it was all Bullpoop when we and everyone else told you exactly that when Boston traded him too you for (frank) all.
You guys only believe what you want to believe, when you want to believe it that’s why I get a kick out you guys. Homers to the last breath.

I think the warts were they were both RFA's & wanted long term deals with raises. Dougie definitely had warts but I will concede that he is the best player in this trade.
Two young guys with high ceilings fitting in with the age group of our young core, fck yeah I like the deal. |
