From NHL.com.....https://www.nhl.com/news/...c-299673638?tid=290471364

"Patrick Kane led the Blackhawks with 76 points (27 goals, 49 assists) in 82 games last season. Chicago's second-leading scorer, Alex DeBrincat, had 52 points (28 goals, 24 assists), also in 82 games. The 24-point gap was the fifth largest in the NHL between the first- and second-leading scorers on a team. It was the third consecutive season Kane led the Blackhawks in scoring, and his 68-point combined gap over those three seasons ranks first in the NHL.

With 271 points (107 goals, 164 assists) in 246 games over the past three seasons, Kane has scored or assisted on 38.6 percent of Chicago's 702 goals, tops in the NHL. Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid, who is second in the NHL in that span (38.2 percent), is the only other player above 34.0 percent."

"Italian Beef, Sausage and Combos? ..." D ... - just making light to a fellow Australian that talking 'Poutine' I don't recall ever being on the radar in Chicago.... although I guess I have an unfair advantage being both.

Anyway ... 21 I remember Stan M who would take time while out with his family stopping and talking to a little kid at a Memorial Day Parade in Elmhurst. I also remember being that kid. Sad day, but I know he has found peace.

And those signings? I dunno - maybe Brouwer, but nothing terribly impactful there, -I guess in fairness, nothing is really going to be this season.

Not to be a debbie downer but does anyone on this panel including you Justin believe the hawks have chance to make the playoffs even if toews seabrook keith and crawford have comeback years? IMO sikura edjsell kauhn henri all should be in rockford developing. I am in favor of bringing in shore plus he is 25 so fits with youth movement.

Really sadden to hear that Stosh has passed. Heard the news when I got into the car for the drive home from work this afternoon.

Bob Verdi - legendary Hawks columnist for the Trib - and now Hawks team historian was on the Score.

Here's Verdi's article from the Hawks website.

Chris Stewart for the hawks. And either Bret Gallant or Tom Sesito for the icehogs who are lacking vets and toughness

There is a chance, yes.

I think a lot depends on not just Corey Crawford but the overall team defence improving.

They need some tweaks to the system and if they core bounces back and the younger players keep improving... they got a shot.

A lot of ifs... but I'm remaining positive because this organization does not want another losing year and I am of the belief that more is to come this offseason. I just don't know what yet.

Yes. I believe. Why not? We haven't even seen what they can do or what the rostet will look like. We're as good as the Caps right now.

The book on Shore looked good. Nice fit.

Believe!!!!!!

No worries. Always enjoy a healthy or in this case mostly unhealthy food discussion. Poutine was a reference to what William Nylander might eat living in Canada...though I realize poutine and smoked meat sandwiches are more regionally appropriate for Montreal and Quebec.

Also, just not a deep dish fan. When I get pizza I like to eat more than a piece or two.

Also, RIP Stan. Along with Pit Martin was my favorite player as a kid.

Sad, sad - I won’t say “it’s for the best” because I don’t know the kind of world he’s been living in the past several years. Hope it was a happy place to be.

He changed his game six or seven years into his career - from 100+ PIM to a Lady Bing winner - and STILL won a couple of Harts and Rosses after that.

Alef ha-shalom, Shosh - you’ve been missed.

I'm cautiously optimistic. As a fan, I believe every team has a chance as the season begins. Let the games play out and see what happens. Every team has ifs and question marks, some more than others. Bad luck, injury bugs, and Murphy's Law like to hang around locker rooms, too. Anything can happen.

With that said, I also won't be surprised if the Hawks season goes south very quickly and turns into another hard-to-watch team. At least the youth will get more experience, even if not necessarily under the best circumstances.

If that happens, I'd say the playoffs are a sure thing. The problem is, the odds of that happening is slim to none.

I m trying to be optimistic but to many questions and not enough answers, yet. I think your idea of Nick shore would be a solid pickup stll need top 4 d man and top 6 forward. Stll a lot of time to add to roster before the start of the season. Bowman needs to plan that crawford not coming back, which i think he will be ready for the start of the season.

I really need to experience the pizza world (and unhealthy food world) a lot more. Pizza out here is dominated by cheap imitations.

I remember a funny episode from the 100+PIM yrs. One Saturday night my dad and I were watching a Hawks game from Toronto on good old WGN here in Chicago. Stan went a little nuts that night, and the Toronto crowd became relentless with the jeering. Good old #21 stood, got up on the bench in the penalty box, turned around, and started directing the crowd like a band director. It was hilarious.
I always thought Mr. Mikita was the guy that really made those teams from that era great.

Haha I've lived alone since I was 17 (Just over 10 years), and grew up cooking/having to cook, so I know a few tricks in the kitchen. Mostly Asian food though with a lot of spice haha

What do you like about Stewart? I'll give you the fact he is big, but he's not good at hockey anymore. We have guys that are big, faster than Stewart, and can put up at least 20 pts in a season. We already signed Kunitz. Sorry, I'm just trying to follow the logic.

What logic? The "we must have someone who can fight for the sake of having someone who can fight" logic?
