I think if they split them up it makes more sense to play Horvat with EP and Boeser with Gagner.
- belcherbd

I figured EP and Horvat might not mesh well as they both drive play? Horvat likes to hold onto the puck a lot and couldn't it will take away from EPs ability to construct plays?

I assume that EP will play well with players who like to cycle but it's hard for me to get a read on him, not watching him play much outside of highlights and most of those are on the PP.....
It's a shame the Sedin's retired

Same, I'm just going off of things I've read mostly. I guess we'll see in Sept.

Toronto's defence and goaltending still suck.
- manvanfan

Pittsburgh won with an AHL defense and a rookie goalie......

All the more reason that Mathews is the best player on the planet, he put that storied franchise on his broad shoulders and manhandled them into the postseason. He's the reason tavaras signed. *

* same reason lucic signed in Edmonton, an inferior player sees a superior player and wants to hide under his wings.

Matthews is so gooood he makes being ugly look handsome.

It's never too early.

Which player was drafted by edmosuck? Which player was drafted by team awesomeness leafs?

Case closed, matthews is just the best, so dreamy.

Yes. The mental strain is certainly much higher and the physical is only slightly lesser.

The amount of focus and ability it takes to outwork out-think and outplay your opponent over 2,3,4,5 hours is much more difficult to come up with than playing a team game for 10-20 minutes of max effort imo.

Not to mention there's essentially only 100-150 spots for the best whereas team sports are much deeper

Is it a crime to want to talk about something other than the same 3 arguments over the canucks every day?

I think the only way he hits 40+ is if he is playing with Boeser.

The suggestions so far have been play wing with Sutter, play wing with Gagner or play C with scraps. I can't see him putting up many points in those scenarios.

- belcherbd

We already know he is going to be on PP1. thats easily 25-30 points. 10 points 5v5 is just crazy for you? he'll play on the 2nd line, only way he doesn't crack 40 is if he gets injured.
