I don't know about the order but I don't think it's outrageous to suggest both Mathews and Tavares are too 20 or even top 10.

Lists are not worth getting worked up over.
They are fun but thats about it.

I don’t see it this year but injury call ups will maybe get him a cup of coffee.

Was thinking this season is one for vets to be plugs or traded or waived. Gagner especially so. On D something has to give.

Seasons end is an audition time IMO

LOL, Gagner is excited to be part of the leadership group next year, doubt he gets put on waivers or traded.

Toronto made a lot of trades for picks both that year and the one before. Definitely tanked and waited until the TDL but they made trades.
- neem55

Didn’t they trade the same guy twice? Winnik maybe?

Just saying, the established veteran players have a roster spot locked up, for better or worse. It is essentially gifted to them (not that they haven’t earned a little over the years)...

I agree but none are locks to not be traded nor should they be.

Would you trade FOR Sam Gagner? I mean, I guess if he was having a good year, and it was the deadline, and you were looking for some PP help going into the playoffs.

I just think if The Canucks are in a position where they need to trade players to make room, those players will be un-tradeable.

I doubt anyone is un-tradeable.
Bad contracts probably so but still doable.
Circumstances & situations will arise.

Bobby Ryan is one example of un-tradeable

For me it depends on the point in the season. Coming out of camp, everyone is trying to shave their roster down. It’s the worst time to try and trade away players, unless you are giving a good deal. Once injuries start to pile up I could see it.

I’d take Ryan (plus), instead of the three guys they signed on July 1.

With the unsigned college drafted players from 2014, about to hit free-agency on the 15th, I am hoping Benning is taking a look at Kelly Summers, an Ottawa pick from that draft, who is a right defenseman, with some offensive ability.

Yes. Need the season underway before any trades are likely. Maybe some minor tweaks before.

What does he offer us?
A 7th rounder with no upside IMO
Many late rounders are unsigned cast-offs

Gagner wasn't very good last year but I think it comes down to expectations. He's been a 40 point guy his whole career with the exception of the last two years, where he over and under achieved.

If he gets a chance to play with talented linemates, he will put up 40 points. I'm certainly not a huge fan of the signing but for 3 million it's not bad value. I think he still can recoup a pick either this year or next.

Baertschi Gagner Pettersson

And what do i think?
Any chance he is better than a 3rd pairing if he ever makes the NHL? Utica can sign him.

I don't really care.
I expressed an opinion about a potential free-agent that I have liked since his draft year.
It is funny that some people go all in for signing undrafted college free agents, yet I bring up a player that showed potential in his draft year and showed some nice steady improvement during his college career, and you try call me out on it...

Then keep your opinions of what i might think to yourself. I asked where he fits in. Ignore that idc either. Any problem if Utica signs a project? Is that calling you out?

Baertschi Gagner EP 😂😂
Now if featured for trade bait sure.
Let EP make them look good.
Tbh idk if Sven is complimentary to Bo only or simply better than that. As for Gagner at C i don’t hold out for much hope he is one.

I like this player and you don't, pretty simple to just ignore my comment.

Do you even read what you write?
You clearly stated he was a 7th rounder and had little upside IMO, that gave me a pretty clear picture of what your thinking was.
