If Dahlén and Pettersson have chemistry? We already know they do. THe question for me is will Dahlen be a top 6 winger? Is he good enough to play on EPs line in a few years

How about the 3rd wheel fitting in for a quick jump start? Who maybe?

playing together in junior and being effective in the NHL aren't the same things. I agree they have chemistry, highly doubt there will be two rookies on the same line. Maybe eventually down the road though for sure. JB has said more than once that EP will start on the wing.

No chance Dahlen makes the team. Hopefully one day 😍

I don’t see it this year but injury call ups will maybe get him a cup of coffee.

Was thinking this season is one for vets to be plugs or traded or waived. Gagner especially so. On D something has to give.

Seasons end is an audition time IMO

After the Vitanen /McCann fiasco, I am hoping no gifting anyone a spot in the lineup.

Best possible scenario is some vets play well enough to get dealt and we finish the year with a extra rookie or two in the lineup.

The gifting of spots ended with the Virtanen and McCann experiment.

Why even bring up gifting?
Where do you see a spot that could happen?

it's a good sign really, making the same mistake would be a issue.

Did JB not say if a prospect EARNS a spot he will make room? Does anyone doubt him or how often does he need say it?

Toronto tanked hard for Matthews that one year. They had Kadri, Reilly, Gardiner, JVR

Nylander, Hyman, Brown all got a few games late in the season. Then next season they inserted Matthews and Marner.

They didn't trade away any of the good players that season either. Dion was the only player that had over 20 points when they were traded.

Toronto made a lot of trades for picks both that year and the one before. Definitely tanked and waited until the TDL but they made trades.

This season is a growth building year.
If Utica is on a roll idk if call ups for prospects would happen. I’d hope Utica is flying & the kids stay there & be in a winning environment. Make it so 2019-20 is a wide open competition. No UFA’s. If prospects do well make some deals.

Definitely. Most of the players just aren't ready. it's strange to see a player like Jesper Bratt go from a 19 year old a half ppg in the Allsvenskan to a half ppg in the NHL as a 20 year old.

This next TDL could see us do the same.

Breaking into the East is easier IMO
Overall the Eastern conference was not as strong

Maybe. I'm not convinced EP plays C there either, they'll want him to get as much practice as possibly you would think

Johnathen Dahlen - LW

Elias Pettersson - Rw

I never mentioned EP playing C.

I just think they'll try em out together at some point, see how they compliment each other. Either 5 on 5 or PP.

Seeing the 4th as pretty set the 3rd line is vets but 2nd in TOI. Leaves Bo’s line intact.

2nd scoring line has EP Gaudette Leipsic JV & who likely to compete there?

I really don't see any line set TBH. So many new faces and I think some will be moved out.

I don't know if Greener will have Brock with Bo or EP . I don't know if Gaudette will center 4 th line or play wing third line.
