Interesting thread for New Jersey

Shows Corey Schnieder's decline, and how his contract is becoming a serious problem with 4 years left, and he isnt even close to a top 20 goaltender but paid like a top 10.

Plus he had another hip surgery this offseason.

Turns out we made out really well in that trade. Hindsight is 20/20! Kinda like saying McDavid will never win when he's 21

Is this your new thing, you're trying to be funny now?

Not at all. I just think matthews is the best player in the nhl. Better ostensibly then McDavid based on the fact that McDavid can't match crosby's feet of a cup by year 3, but Mathews still can. So matthews is the best.

He'll never match Crosby. If he wins it'll take five longer sp he's not going to have a better career.

Any idea what triggered Northy to post such inappropriate garbage?
- CanuckDon

It was completely uncalled for. I'm going with the heat.

Draftsite doesn't have a single Swede in the first round for next year. Wonder when the last time no Swede got picked in the first?

We'll trade up to 31st from our 2nd rounder to make sure that doesn't happen.

You do realize he could easily win 3 cups in his career being that he's 21 and the best player in hockey, right? I get not liking him or Edmonton, but I thought you were joking because if not you just sound like an idiot. He's only got up to go.

We already know he is going to be on PP1. thats easily 25-30 points. 10 points 5v5 is just crazy for you? he'll play on the 2nd line, only way he doesn't crack 40 is if he gets injured.
- neem55

Seguin, Backstrom, Pastranak, Marner, Barzal, Trotchek, Kopitar, Kuznetsov, Tavares all scored between 25-30 PP points last year.

I personally don't have Matthews in my top 10 yet. McDavid has the hardware and played better in the playoffs/took his team further. You could make a case for Sid, but McDavid has simply been more productive and statistically better. Just on a much worse team. Pacific is pretty weak, I Oilers will likely get a wildcard. With a couple over performing teams not making it this year.

Ya alright maybe 15-20 is more conservative. fair. I still think 20-25 5v5 points when you play top6 is pretty reasonable even for a rookie. That's 30-40 points. He's going to get a lot of offensive zonetime, I don't really get why think that number is difficult for a purely offensive player playing sheltered offensive minutes including the PP1

That's what he does. You say black , he says white. You say two he says three.

I think it still is the highest return for a goaltender in a long long time.

-Schnieder was 8th
-Martin Jones was the 11th pick
-Miller brought back a late 1st and 3rd
-Andersson was a late 1st and a 2nd.
- Talbot was a 2nd and 3rd
- Bobrovsky was a 2nd and 4th

30-40 points sounds about right to me if he plays the whole season in Vancouver. 40-60 is what was suggested though.
