I could see there actually being some truth to this rumour. Treliving might be thinking that the best way to counter the best forward in the world would be to bring in the best defenseman in the world.

It could make some sense for Ottawa to be after Tkachuk (I would much rather us be after Brady--but Ottawa landing Matthew & having Brady could be seen as a big win for the franchise).

I know that it is EK65 we are talking about here, but if Tkachuk is included in this deal then our 1st & all of our top tier prospects (Dube, Valimaki, Rass, etc.) should be off limits.

I would rather see us try to package something else--but again the cost in picks/prospects might be too rich for my blood.

Would love Karlsson (who wouldn't? lol) but I like our forward corps a lot less without Chucky in there, it would mean Bennett would really need to step his game up. That said, .8 PPG defencemen don't grow on trees!
