I'm okay with that. I have to admit a part of me does want someone to beat up Wilson, but I don't want the pens dressing a sestito kind of guy where his only instruction is to hunt wilson. - Thrill81
It is beyond me how Wilson was allowed to break ZAR face then laugh at the pens bench and refuse a fight. I’d rather dress sestito than have that happen anyway. Tom Sestito wouldn’t have asked.

Sestito is just a waste in the line up. Provides no offense or defense. I'll agree with you though I was fuming when he did that. He's a special kind of d-bag.
I watched that on NHL Network. Pretty awesome stuff when you have both of them. Mcdavid and Matthews being 1 and 4 respectively is exactly where I would have them. If I was making a super team those would hands down be my 4 centers.

Sestito does one thing no one else on the Pens will do. Fight Wilson. Good trade off for 5 minutes.

I disagree. I doubt sestito will change Wilson's antics. To clarify I'm not opposed to physical play and fighting. I just don't see the need of an enforcer. If there's a guy that can score, make big hits, and not be a nuisance, I'm okay with that. I just don't want the penguins to have players that are nothing but face-mashers.

I never said he would change his antics. I don’t think fighting is about changing a players antics. It’s about how the Pens bench would have felt after that. When ZAR went out and the pens were quiet I knew it was over. That bench had no pulse after that.

I can see that. It felt at times that the penguins bench were gassed and needed a spark. I just don't see the need to dress an enforcer unless it's gonna change Wilson. Because it won't, I don't see the need to dress him. Just my take. I agree with you our bench needed some energy that series, however I think we'll get a lot of that back by the penguins having an offseason to rest.

Maybe, but what did carter rowney bring to the table? I think a spot to sestito is much more useful in a Caps-Pens game than carter rowney.
No we don't need to do that at all, nor should we.Just play the game. Nothing is gonna stop Wilson from being Wilson but I'd like to see Big Rig jack him up. - 668710[/quo
Stralman boarding him seemed to settle him down a little. Was that the 2nd game? Tampa got out of that series without any broken jaws or concussions I believe. If someone gets him early, i think it can be done & just puts him on notice - now putting him on notice that someone is going to put his head through the boards at every chance could be considered a detergent. But I'm not sure. And you don't have to be a fighter - you just say no!
I just mentioned him because he is currently the most-talked center... we will see what he can unleash with Toronto... he is obviously a very good offensive-center, but till now he hasn't proven a lot beyond that (one playoff-series won in 9 years - ok, not just his fault...) and there are around a dozen better two-way centers in the league imo..

Well, "elite" is a very wide term, especially applied to the second-best center of the Islanders (and maybe now Leafs) ... imo. he has no place on the Penguins roster (we have two better centers, and for row 3 and 4 we need different [two-way-]skills and price-tags), but he would have a decent chance for the first line with the www.sydneybears.com.au/

Yes, his could punch Tom Wilson in the face a few times and then, after serving his 17 PIM, including giving the Caps a 2-minute (minimum) PP for instigation, he'd have his ass stapled to the bench for the rest of the playoff game.
You wanna do it right, you have Oleksiask straight-up run Kuznetsov or Backstrom high and hard, and as he's getting escorted to the box, he points at Wilson and lets him know it was all because of him. It's much harder to apologize for getting a teammate hurt than to get punched in the mouth 3-4 times by a guy wearing skates.

Johnson also has a history of blowing people up:
Totally agree that running someone is now the preferred form of comeuppance.

I don't think any players in the fear going into the corner with JMFJ. But if he can provide any sort of hesitation from guys, well, at least he's got that going for him.
The problem is that guys like Marchand and Wilson have no conscience when it comes to injuring players. They just kind of roll with it and have no issue with throwing dirty hits. Most NHL players plays aggressively and can play physical and mean at times, but very few are okay with intentionally injuring a guy.

Yea literally if you dont want to deal with them you have to injure them. I had no problem when Neal did a knee to the head of Marchand because Marchand is a wiener. That's what you sign up for when you play dirty.

How did you feel when Shawn Thornton responded by sucker punching Glue Gloves?

As sadistic as that is, I hate to admit I'd be okay with those series of events happening. Completely agree. Saying that Rowney was useless is not a good argument for another useless player to play. In a playoff series the worst thing the penguins could do is tire out Crosby and Malkin. Dressing a goon 4th line is just going to ensure that the pen's top 3 lines will be overused.
One of the dumbest things I've seen on the ice. But Neal had a habit for attracting dumb penalties. - Thrill81
I don't like Marchand, not one bit. But Neal's "accidentally on purpose" knee was a straight up douchebag move. So when Thornton sucker punched Glue Gloves a half minute later, I mean...I really wasn't surprised.

Not surprised either. Neal seemed to have a lot of "accidents". He was fun to watch as a penguins fan with his chemistry with Malkin, but when he was traded it really was just a 'meh' kind of deal. Neal needed Malkin, but Malkin was always going to be fine.
