People gotta stop bringing up Vermette's name in regards to the Leafs.
He's (frank)ing terrible. |

Meh, it doesn't matter - if he was that great of a prize he would be signed already. To more than UG's pyjama league, at least. |

the only person repeatedly getting excited / mentioning Vermette is UG...
personally, I think the Leafs have their quota of "quality players over 35" |

I think the last guy they should be moving is Gallagher.
He's young, good and incredibly annoying to play against. Every single team would benefit from having a guy like that. Signed to a pretty good deal too.
If they really want to rebuild, they should move Price and Weber, not just turned 26 year old Gallagher.
And after seeing what Skinner brought the Canes, despite Pacioretty being the better player, I think we can only hope for a pick or two and prospect at this point... despite what Bergevin seems to want. - Scabeh
understood... yup the Skinner deal has to be a wake-up call for GMBergevin - although it does seem like Carolina is for the most part looking to dump salaries - but one would think that with Pacioretty's current situation and pending FA... there's no point in waiting to move him
I don't think GMBergevin survives attempting to move Price... and Weber isn't going to move for anything close to value - with the Subban backdrop he can't lose that deal badly and survive either... so I would suspect no movement there at all - although those would clearly be the right thing to do. With those guys around the team won't be bad enough to hit rock bottom... |

I agree I expect both of them to stay, although I disagree about Weber, he'd bring tons in return simply because he is that damn good.
And the team finished 27th last season with a diminished Weber for 1/3 of the year and Price for most of it.... they can still suck just fine. |

Let's see what Weber looks like after knee surgery.
And for the record, I hope that he is fine. |

Enstrom wouldn’t be bad at all. His time would need to be managed, like Hainsey’s, but he’s a better player than the latter... having both would help with time management.
Vermette on the other hand is awful. Arguably one of the worst players in the league. Leafs would be better off letting an internal promotion take the role. If they do go looking for depth, bringing Stajan back would be a good move. Much better player currently than Vermette, and also a strong faceoffs guy. - Feeling Glucky?

Knee surgery isn't what it use to be. Not as many injuries anymore that end a players career the same way they once did. |

It should still make him a tad slower.... which is something I believe a player of his caliber can adapt to.
If Markov did it (and his game relied on speed alot more), why can't he? |

Of course he'll be fine who needs a knee when you have a wheelchair...... |

The real setback is that for 6 months, his ability to train is limited to a varying degree. That puts him a step behind. The NHL is the kind of league where if you aren't improving, you're falling behind. But by the deadline, he should be good enough to get traded for most of what he's worth. |

He's not getting traded.
I think he should, because the team will only be decent/good in 3-4 years if things go well.
But I don't think he is. |

If he doesn't get moved, it's because of the contract. But the Habs should be blowing it up. They're not going anywhere this year. If they're lucky, Price plays like a Vezina winner again and you're 8th. |

Unlucky because mediocrity is a back breaker, I agree, like the Leafs in 2007. But lucky for management because they still want to be pretenders and not get fired. |

Comparatively, yes.
Stajan is a much better player at this stage. |

Based on scoring 1/2 as many goals in more games?
They are roughly the same age.
Frankly they both suck. Not what this team needs |
