Ween rules! I have not heard the Dean Ween Group, but I'm going to agree in advance that it's probably super sweet.

I have nothing against a band being mainstream. The Arctic Monkeys are super main stream, so is Kacey Musgrave......one of my all time fav bands is the Beach Boys...commercial success is not a factor in when I judge music.

The reason I hate the Foo Fighters is because they are not interesting. They are rock and or roll by the numbers, and they are about as artistic as Britney Spears (who i like 100x better than the Foo Fighters).

I absolutely hate boring radio rock for people who don't like music that much. You'll never find a hardcore music fan who ranks the Foo Fighters highly. There's nothing wrong with that - its cool to like what you like.

But personally, I am all about things that are interesting - however that manifests itself.

The Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Phil Collins, Kenny Chesny and Bill Joel. I consider that the worst lineup I've ever heard of. Its boring music for boring people. Just my opinion.

This is a great list of boring artists. Especially Billy Joel and Dave Matthews. Phil Collins deserves to be there for being boring, although I oddly enjoy a number of his songs...

"Boring artists" who've been selling out shows for 20+ years. I guess a few people like them

Love the music, but at 41, don't think my attire would fit in anymore at their shows! Khakis and boat shoes are no bueno in a mosh pit..lol

My best friend is the lead singer of Last Call Brawl ( local band), who opened for the Dropkicks and Street dogs. Got to meet all those guys. It's amazing to see how professional and business like they are behind the scenes nowadays. A far cry from what I would think they would be or what they probably were like when they started out.

This. Extremely talented, just like Dream Theater. Can't write an enjoyable song, just like Dream Theater.

Years ago got comp'd tickets to see Dream Theatre (box seats) without knowing who they are or being a metal fan. My brother insisted I went because I played a lot of guitar. A lot of whiskey later still one of the most entertaining shows I've ever seen...whatever one thinks of their songs they are so technically proficient it was amazing

Oh, no doubt I can see how musicians can appreciate them as fellow craftsmen. They are incredibly talented individuals at their chosen instruments. And from what I've heard, their live shows are very good. That said, as a non-musician who just likes to listen to music for enjoyment, I don't think they're very good.

It's like any other art. There are paintings where I can appreciate the artist's skill without actually liking the piece itself, and there are pieces that I enjoy that don't seem to have taken much skill (relatively). Hope that makes sense.

A lot of truth in this. I'm not a fan of Rush but they are crazy talented musicians who put on a great show. Neil Peart is crazy talented

The Arctic Monkeys were on Colbert last week and they are headlining a show tonight at the ACC, which is the 20K seat arena where the Leafs play. You don't headline arenas if you're not mainstream.
- james_tanner1

It's not the ACC anymore, I believe it is now called ScotiaBank Arena.
