Well that’s not good
The season hasn’t even started yet & this guy might be a problem with his attitude
Damn it

Meh, worst case scenario, he retires back to Russia (again). Saves us $2m.

I think it may actually be a weird translation. He's saying he's a 2nd or 3rd line guy. The "I won't play on the 4th line" might be his prediction

Its the difference between "I won't" and "I will not be playing"

Even if it doesnt, I cannot recall the last time I've been this excited for an upcoming season.

Skinner
Dahlin
and Middlestadt

Nice trade for you guys

I think this puts the Sabers into WC contention. Still going to be tough but I would not be surprised if they sneak in

I took advantage of the 50% discount. It's pretty decent, but I probably won't pay the full price for it when my subscription runs out.

I think we have to give it an in-season chance.
Hopefully, what we see in Nov has far more relevant artickkes than late July/ Aug as if relates to Bills & Sabres

I think Sheary’s style of play makes him a better linemate for Jack than Skinner will be.

Skinner and Jack both like to carry the puck.

Sheary is a converter. He scores off the creativity of others.

yet sheary got demoted to the bottom 6 last year instead of playing with crosby or malkin

Meh, it sounded more like he was saying that he feels that he isn't a 4th line guy. I don't think he was refusing to play the 4th line if placed there.

Well, he better get used to it because he sure isn't in the Sabres top 6. If he doesn't, hopefully he sits out or goes to Russia to play. No big loss.

The interview question

Q: "There is surely a free position of the 2nd line winger in Buffalo right now, would you like to fight for this position? Or would you like to stay in the 3rd/4th line where you are used to play?"
Sobotka: "That's not my business. I wouldn't say that I'm used to play in the 4th line. Unfortunately I've played a couple games there but I don't think I'm a bottom 6 guy. I've come back from the KHL to confirm that I'm a guy for the 2nd or 3rd line. I definitely won't play in the 4th line."

Love it, why would you want someone who would settle for the 4th line title. The 4th liners should be pushing to take the 3rd line and upward. Competition motha (frank)a’s

I agree, not a big loss. But I’d like to keep him here and stop Girgs, Larsson etc from moving up a spot.

Worst case scenario is that he’s a disruptive attitude in the room
That’s not the type of “culture” change we are looking for

He’s signed for 2 more seasons i believe

Buffalo is a difficult team to predict, although I love the additions to this years squad. The Division they play in is very strange as well.
Leafs, Bruins and Lightning are 3 stacked teams which Buffalo is not likely to even sniff at. YET, the lower end, Habs and Sens...are both dysfucntional trash. Both are teams the Sabres should be able to get the better of.

This means, to make the playoffs, the Sabres have to hope for one of the two Wild Card slots. The Metro likely will have 5, maybe 6 teams at least who are in the 90 point plus range. Buffalo needs to catch a couple of them. (Pitt, Wash and Philly look strong...Florida, NJ also could be 90 pointers.)

If I had to bet, I would think Sabres are still a year or two away from making playoffs, just because I can't see them beating the 5th place metro team. But, after Vegas last year I know better than to count on anything.

Sabres have a better product, and have just begun their development....give it 3-4 years and the right moves, and the Sabres COULD be not only a playoff tam, but a true CONTENDER.

I definitely won't play in the 4th line.

It sounds like a guy who believes in himself. Before the Skinner trade, Biron had him with Mitts. Maybe he goes
