It sure seems that way, but it sure seemed like Treliving addressed a lot of the problems the Flames had last offseason and all the moves were lateral at best.

I'm hoping it all works this time and I think the Flames are the favourites to win the division right now. But if you're grading Treliving's moves so far, they've been pretty poor and depending on how things go in the next few years, he could be in the conversation for worst GM in the league.

Signing Brouwer was bad, trading for Lazar was bad, trading for Hamonic was bad, trading for Smith was okay but completely unnecessary since he was a marginal upgrade over Elliott.

Neal could easily become a Lucicesque contract, Hamilton could go on to win a Norris, Ferland might actually be a top line guy, and Hanifin and Lindholm might just be what they were in Carolina. Hopefully, his moves pay off, but there's no denying he took some substantial risks.

Also, Mr positivity, Neal and Lucic are vastly different players. There was zero chance of Elliott playing here ever again after that playoff performance, and I am sure it was a mutual parting of the ways. Hamonic deal is being evaluated on one year, and I think you yourself pointed out that the Dougie deal didn't look so hot year one. Now you're throwing Norris' at him. Not saying he won't turn into that player, but Hanifin might just as well given time.

Hunk, since you have no faith in this team, it's unclear to me why you pose as fan. Save everyone a little time and go cheer for the Oil already

You're just going to skip over the part where I said I think they're going to win their division?

Losing Hamilton doesn’t help, but everyone and their dog was saying the Flames had one of the best blue lines in the league going into the year.

That Defense hung the goaltender out to dry most nights.

The team is looking much better this year depth/scoring wise, but if that Defense doesn’t step up and Smith takes a step back there’s going to be problems again.

The Flames went from being one of the best overtime teams in the league to living or dieing based on whether Brodie/someone else made a bone head play or not. Which happened too much.

Coincedence? I think not! Coaching, leadership play a big part.

Since I can't remember a single time you actually made a relevant argument based on hockey, I'm just going to assume you agree with everything I say but it makes you sad. I'm sorry for making you sad.

I saw it. It was right before you trashed the team, so forgive me if it rings a little hollow.
