You don't trade your leading scorer at the deadline when you are in the top ten overall and going in to the playoffs hot, doesn't matter if he's a UFA. At the end of the day they let JVR and Bozak walk and didn't get picks back for them, but guess what the consolation prize is they got Tavares instead.
