I was never a fan (not really into music) but I heard a fascinating interview with their producer.

For Another Brick in tbe Wall, the producer wanted a chorus. The band told him to eff off, so he added the kids' chorus - without them knowing.

I’m a fan, my favourite album from them is Wish You Were Here, it’s brillant in every aspect, musically and lyrically, IMO.

Tanner was slamming Pink Floyd, the "worst of the classic rock bands". Apparently only teenagers smoking pot for the first time should get a bye for listening to them.

somewhere along the way I believe I heard someone say "you can't fix stupid" ...

I did hear something hilarious regarding "classic rock and classic rock bands"...

I'm out for dinner with my two college aged sons... conversation at the next table (occupied by 5 college aged girls all text each other or someone else ) went something like "how are you supposed to dance to that" and "his voice is awful"...

yup... Pink Floyd. I guess they just don't cut it compared with the modern day "musicians"

As I said, I'm not really a music guy.

My phone currently has about 40 Christmas songs (full Charlie Brown soundtrack, of course), Free to be by Alan Frew (Go Leafs Go) and Love Song by Sara Bareilles - very catchy, but I have no idea how it got on my phone.

But if you are forcing me to pick, it's Bruce Cockburn for the win.

This is unacceptable.

Pink Floyd whether you like them or not, are simply a brilliant band, nothing like them back then or now. Musically exceptional and pioneers.

I’m a big Canadian music buff and fan, love if I had a rocket launcher.

Underrated bands, Triumph, April Wine, Prism, Chilliwack and Saga, plus many more...

I have an extensive collection, Guess Who, Tropper, BTO, Loverboy, Honeymoon Suite, Rush, Harlequin, Teenage Head, Doug the Slug, FM etc...

And of course, Gordon Lightfoot

Darkside of the Moon is my all time fave album, and The Wall would be second. Not sure Pink Floyd is my fave band/artist... I just think those two albums were brilliant all the way through.

Yup. For that price, even as a rental, for a guy in his prime who can skate and score like that, absolutely would look better beside Matthews than Hyman. Might have been able to re-sign him too depending on his bed sheet situation.

Tragically hip would be the obvious choice, but Gordon Lightfoot and The Guess Who are candidates also

Yeah I won't disagree as I only remember hearing either of them a few times, except the individual song "Wish You Were Here" is amazing. Sometimes it takes a while for you to really appreciate an album.

Spoons!

I hacked around playing some of the drumline with the Spoons on one of the very first electronic drumsets... way back when at a tradeshow in Toronto. I am not a drum player, so I just kind of kept beat

The very first time I saw The Hip was at the side of the stage at The Horseshoe Tavern. That night changed my life.
