Troy Brouwer, 1 year, 2 million or nah?

2 min per game on the PK on Calgary, big body RW, bit of experience, throws his weight around a bit, if he plays with Kadri, might be able to score 15-20 goals again.

Not surprised you missed it, the Tavares thing went under the radar.

Jake moved into Kyle's basement, so ya he is still here for a while

Much more of a power forward though. Hits with size. The Leafs have a lot of small, speedy wingers. At least one guy with a bit of crash and bang would be nice, especially in the playoffs. He kills penalties, he's won a Cup, has playoff experience. Short term deal obviously.

Islanders fans are going to be sooooooo pissed when they find out Tavares didn't re-sign with them.

It's my understanding that we are only handing out Leafs bed sheets to guys who we think can help the team.

Troy Brouder isn't one of those guys.

Perhaps you are getting him confused with Troy Crowder?

Hope the surgery went well and you're recovering quickly.

It's been crazy in here. The gull and HOHO both became temporary refs while you were gone.

Oh yeah, and we signed some dude name John something or other. Seems like a depth move to give us better center depth. I hear he's really slow and overpaid, so don't get your hopes up.

On a short term deal, Troy Brouwer can help the team. I'm all for the Leafs being young, speedy and skilled but some experience and size should be part of the depth equation too. If it's a short term deal. Brouwer can drop the gloves too if need be and unlike Martin, he could actually be on the ice if and when things get gritty.

If Troy Brouwer is too old or too slow for anybody, the Leafs should target Sam Bennett. You want to talk about a guy with Leafs bed sheets? That guy is a hardcore Leafs fan, idolizes Doug Gilmour, coached by him in Kingston and plays a tough game.

He's young, he plays hard, hits, fights, he still has potential to be able to score too with the right linemates. Love to see the Leafs buy low on Bennett, put him beside Kadri and eventually with Tavares and Marner when Marleau retires. Calgary filled out their top 9 and Bennett looks like the odd man out. I think he's worth the small gamble.
