Mark Stone asked for 9 million in salary arbitration. Bill Karlsson asked for 6.5 million.

- TheMussel

Players always ask high in arbitration, teams always offer low. Never understood why people are always appalled by the asking prices when it’s just common practice to ask for more then you’re expecting. Stone should be paid 7-8 million.

Just randomly copy and paste stats from there when in an argument. Even if the stats in question make no sense or aren't for the players you're discussing, it will still give legitimacy to your statements.

I'm assuming you are on the Bruins' spam list.

Did you see the Martin Richard Foundation 8k run?

Ends at Centre Ice - kinda cool.

There's nothing funny about slip and fall injuries, Aethsie.

I doubt that. The fact that the team is a tire fire is all the more reason to be hurt that the one hope of the team turning around left with nothing in return.
- Unholy_Goalie

Sucks he didn't allow a trade in the final year to help rebuild the team. I can agree that would suck as a fan.

I honestly would be pointing fingers at management for the mishandling of it.

As you said when he became a free agent that players have very few "working" years in the NHL to make their money. Tavares felt he would make enough in Toronto or anywhere else and decided that Toronto is where he would like to pursue a championship. That was what won him over.

If Matthews wanted to do the same thing in Arizona I'd personally have a hard time begrudging him and instead I'd point my fingers at management for not giving him a reason to stay outside of "we drafted you".

Read something last night about the Leafs inquiring about Parayko. Any legs to this or is it just some Howard Berger click bait. That kid would be a nice addition!

I don't think the salary cap will allow that many 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 million dollar players.

So much cap space next season, but only for next season. What overpaid one year depth player are we taking on this season?

We need to find a guy who is in the last year of his contract, being paid $8 million, with a $7 million cap hit, who is playing like a $4 million player, but that we hope we can up his game to the $6 million level.

I don't know who that is, but there has to be a guy like this out there who we can get for a 3rd round pick.

With last years bonuses its about 15.5 minus whatever nylander gets.
Plus they may have 3.7 million in bonuses this coming season they may not want to roll over to the next as they would have to pay M and M.
So they should pay it this cap season.

So if they have less than 5.2 mil Horton moves to LTIR and they can pay the bonus' this year but if they keep more than 5.3M in space they would be at the cap including Horton and the bonus' go to next years cap, right?

I wonder if they try and trade Hortons contract.

They would only benefit from trading it this year so that it doesn't affect their ability to pay bonus'. After next year it's just a cheque MLSE has to write.
