You'd think they could find people to call the games on tv that know what they are doing. We deserve better. Sucks that the best guys are on radio |

100% correct.
This question has been asked a dozen times but never gets a real answer; why isn't Bowen on TV anymore?
Even a (frank)ing basic beat reporter could ask this question, could they not?
If not for time delays, I'd mute the TV and listen to the radio. |

Irrelevant. He'll more than make that up in sponsorship deals. The only advantage Ek has in keeping him is that extra year he can offer. But who would want to stay with this dumpster fire rumour site even one more year never mind 8. |

Well played...
I'm actually interested in discussing yesterdays topic of the deadline and how to make it better. I suggested limit NTC or NMC on the team. Say can't have more than 8. Thoughts? |

Eliminate them all together
Edit: or at least do something that says if you have spent X number of years in the league and have at least X number with current team you get a say in if your are delt and to where. |

I said let teams go over the cap by 10% with a dollar for dollar luxury tax that goes directly to revenue sharing. Maybe allow teams to do this only once every two years.
Don't think there are very many teams that have 8 or more NTC/NMC as it is. Not sure the players would go for losing contractual rights to negotiate a NTC/NMC. |

6 was the average when I just took a quick look. Tampa seems to have the most with 10 (including limited ones).
You could go with 5 or 6 then which yes it means there's less contractual rights for the players but it also means more player movement. A team with few NMC can use it as a way to entice a player to come play for them.
I do like the luxury tax idea going to revenue sharing. I'd be interested in a luxury tax in general on the cap like the NBA and MLB. |

Players don't like being moved, especially when wives and kids enter the picture. It also hurts teams because sometimes they get a player for less money because they included a NTC/NMC. I just don't see players giving that up without getting something in return.
I like a soft cap luxury tax because it helps everyone. Players get more money, big market teams get to spend more for their loyal fans, small market teams get more money to become more competitive in the future without having do to the bullpoop Arizona does with bad contracts just to meet the salary floor and deadlines get more exciting because now teams can choose to go over instead of trying to work out a deal to move a bad contract. |

I'm not too concerned for the players. I know they don't like to move, especially with a family but it is what it is. Honestly if they did it at 6 as a limit, which is the current average there would be little to no change except tampa would be screwed. |

Wouldn't you be? If Matthews left as a UFA to Arizona, there'd be plenty of Leafs fans burning jerseys too. |

Different situation. And some people were still pissed that he didn't waive his NTC and said he wouldn't play for a team for half a season and then did exactly that with the Canucks. But Sundin didn't leave at 28. |

So we can look at the Sundin situation rationally but Isles fans can’t?
