He's getting the Kessel treatment. Put him with a good C and I'm sure he'll put up 30+
- mgriffen

Kessel has done pretty well without big name centers. Bonino and Bozak aren't exactly high end talent and he put up pretty good numbers. Patches is not the same player he was and I don't see him sniffing 30 goals again regardless who his linemates are.

Enjoy your ban. Alfie is probably crying to the mods right now.

This makes zero sense. Both teams aren't going to make the playoffs this year and need/are in rebuilding mode. Why would Detroit trade for Patches only to see him walk for nothing at the end of the season. And why would Montreal take on the bloated contract of Helm just to acquire Nyquist?

Might as well throw in Zadina too. But lets get real here. MB has yet to and never will win a trade in the NHL.

Last 3 seasons 5v5 p1/60

Nyquist: 1.42

Pacioretty: 1.4
- Feds91Stammer

ya ok, lets use the only one bad season he had

That's not stupid at all

Patch is not 5th for goals in the last 5-6 years in the whole NHL

Not saying he awesome, but he worth more than Gustav

1. He didn't use JUST Patches ONE BAD YEAR. He clearly stated the last THREE years combined.

2. Patches ONE bad year was just 37 points in 64 games. Ouch!!!

3. Patches ONE bad year was in his most recent year.....

All the above says...I would want to stay clear of Patches...ESPECIALLY if he is seeking a 7x7 deal (which is the rumor) as an extension.

I would give up squat for Patches...maybe a "B" Prospect and a 2nd rounder...and then, would let him walk after this season.

- hawk35

Then the numbers are wrong... and who cares what you would give up for Patch, you have nothing to say in the whole ordeal...he a proven scorer, somebody will give a first and an average prospect for him...maybe more if we take back a salary dump

Late to the party but...

Assuming MTL signs their RFAs and assuming they make no other moves and go into the year with their current roster, they have 13 wingers that would need to pass through waivers if not in the NHL. This doesn't include Drouin (who will play C but should be LW)

So regardless of value, this rumour would have us believe MTL wants to add an extra winger on a waiver required contract to make the total 14?

I get Bergevin has made some indefensible moves, frankly more than he should have been able to get away with and keep his job let alone be re-signed. I just can't follow the logic, even if this is made up by a source or others...regardless of value it just doesn't make sense

Probably be a pesky, annoying line to play against that would score a bit. Good 2nd line on a normal team
