So lets recap today:
Most of the board doesn't recognize the "A Team" , doesn't know what Fortnite is,

IMO Gorton seems to be banking on the recent prospects/draft picks acquired stepping up this year or next. FAs will come in a year or two as well
Kreider, Zuuc, SHatty, Hank, Staal, and Fast are all veterens w/ presence in the locker room and have good leadership qualities - rrentz
My point was that Gorton is relying both too heavily "on his recent picks and prospects to step up this year or next" TO THEIR EXPECTED FULL POTENTIAL, and that he will be able to spend on possible key FA's next summer (or, "come a year or two" as you stated), but without a guarantee that they will still OFFICIALLY become FA's then.
So how are you going to bring in veterans otherwise to help groom and better their kids' games, if also being inactive in the trade market thus far this off season? That relying on their kids predominantly alone could affect their development. It's also necessary having some capable producing veterans to help their games, including one with full Captain leadership qualities, which also requires displaying emotion as well, which was lacking here last season. Hopefully Kreider can best fill that role, while the others you mentioned don't quite rank up there emotion wise except for Hank, but only in the locker room when he is able to directly do so emotionally to all simultaneously. |

Yowza.....that was a mouthful
I have no doubt that Gorton has thought a bit about this. It will all play out |

Good column on Kreider: http://www.espn.com/nhl/s...od-clots-journey-back-ice
Interesting quote by Kreider on his first game back after the surgery etc. and where he stands now:
"It honestly felt like I had never stickhandled in my life," Kreider says. "The nerve in my elbow and the nerve in my shoulder were beat up. My grip strength is not the same in my right hand. I did a little work and it got significantly better every day, but even today, it's still not where I want it to be.” |

Kreider has been dealing with that going back to college. Now that he's fully healthy, Kreider is going to be a beast this season. |

I saw a MASH recently when Frank Burns was trying to teach English to a bunch of Koreans and he taught them "Get us out of the U.N." and then laughed to himself.
I was like OMG, that was be so relevant today |

Haven't watched MASH in years, that was one of my favorites growing up. Frank was such a whiny weasel. He played such a perfect part.
Winchester played the dad in Better Off Dead (another favorite), blew me away when he didn't have the accent. I thought it was real. |
