And in other news, just read a CNN article saying parents are hiring Fortnite tutors for their kids -- paying upwards of $20 per hour. Apparently it's some type of social stigma if you suck at the game.

Helicopter parents are the worst. I'm so glad my parents only cared if we showed up for dinner and curfew. - mdw7413
My kids are a good combo, they have a lot of kids the same age range in the neighborhood but they still play game on either the ipad or phone, they play a game called Roblox when they stay by me, literally play in an virtual game sitting next to each other while yelling not to wander off...... |

The only issue I would have is if I had a girl. She wouldn't be allowed to date until she moved out of the house. And in the summer would have to wear a Burkini |

How about our Mets last night, Jan?
They didn't call you up to be ready to come in relief on the mound if needed?
It's time for the Woefulpons to sell the franchise. |

With the lack of outside moves activity this off season (minus signing Claesson), and with the way this team may look by 2020/21, it seems that Gorton is relying only heavily for now on next summer's elite free agents as still being ones come next July. That is not the best means of reliance in rebuilding a team into a contender, with there being no guarantee they will officially become free agents.
In addition, unless due to a few sudden injuries occurring, you don't want players playing out of their normal position, or in roles they may not succeed well at, in order to cover up for Gorton's hole shortages not filled. Moves must be made gradually all along through trades for some experienced vets as well to assist a youth rebuild for their betterment. There is also no guarantee that this youth will develop as highly as expected without also having a veteran voice leader, with that still missing from this roster at a high extent. |

IMO Gorton seems to be banking on the recent prospects/draft picks acquired stepping up this year or next. FAs will come in a year or two as well
Kreider, Zuuc, SHatty, Hank, Staal, and Fast are all veterens w/ presence in the locker room and have good leadership qualities |

And good that they did, b/c McD and Cally contracts weren't going to be worth it! |
