Like you said earlier, where there is smoke there is usually something burning nearby.
It certainly clears up a lot of things both observed and said in the past. I was never a Linden fan but this sure shows what shambles this ownership & management group are.
Four more years of Eriksson.

Really it's a sad state of affairs in and around the organization. Yeah they'll get better eventually, as I've said before, if you spent enough time at the bottom you can't help but get better simply through drafting high.

Boeser, Horvat and Pettersson are kids to be excited about!

True about the young ones but you know there is a disastrous trade around the corner for that extra push to make the playoffs. The only reassuring thing is that Benning, being the genius that he is, will continue to f*ck up and will be fired.

It has been consistently said over the last 2 years that the organization is not trading away any youth trying to find a shortcut. I guess this year we'll find out if that was Linden's mindset or if JB shares that vision.

You know, my wife and I discussed buying a package this year for the team, at the end of the day we decided, with the way things are, we're not going to. In part because I can just see it now, another dumb move like the Gudbranson trade to "accelerate" the push for the playoffs.

Aquilini just simply can't see the forest for the trees, he's putting his faith in a guy who's failed to accomplish any type of acceleration for the past three years even though that appears to have been his agenda, at least until February, when all hope was lost.

If you listened to the podcast its clearly stated by Botchford that Linden changed his views in the past couple of years and especially now that the Sedins have retired, thus the major differences of opinion from Benning who originally thought, and still to this day does, that he can accelerate things.

At the end of the day, at least in my opinion, Linden is a bit of whiny little female dog for taking his ball and going home but I haven't walked a mile in his shoes to understand how difficult the situation was.

Year end when this team is a dumpster fire again, I bet Aquilini won't be as thrilled with good old Mr. Benning

Very true. Linden is certainly not without fault. He wouldn't re-build while the Sedins were still playing and he signed off on the lame trades and the disgusting Loui Eriksson contract.

Orders from FA an impatient owner. Listening to old JB links. Good stuff & sounds like its marching to FA’s beat.

It's funny as I'm sure many were thinking of buying ticket packages until the Linden situation. I wasn't a Linden detractor like many here...but I'm still trying to decide if the distraction is good for the team right now. The prospects were finally getting us all excited and now we seem to be joining the Habs and Sens Circus act...lol

The one thing FA/Benning have to realize now is that the majority of casual fans adored Linden. And a lot of them 100% backed the Canucks moves and organizational direction due to that admiration and belief in him.

There’s going to be more casuals who start criticizing this team now if they get stuck in no-man’s land by prematurely trying to make the playoffs.

Both FA and JB have opened themselves to criticism from a whole new group of Canuck fans. Those seats are getting warmer.

"Quinn Hughes and brother Jack dazzle at World Junior Summer Showcase"

"The brothers were held off the scoresheet"

Ohhh I see.. To dazzle with 0 points combined. That's impressive.

Four 1st overall picks in a span of 6 years, and absolutely nothing to show for it.

Now that my friend, THAT, is impressive.

I’ve been to very few games the past 4 years. Mostly due to work & didn’t like WD. The selfie cel phone crowd & hockey illiterate fans cinched it.

On tv it limits my ability to watch all the ice all of the time which is the biggest loss. Puck watching isn’t always the thing to do, I don’t miss the many casual fans in the least. Casual fan to me are those who don’t know much beyond stats & scores & they are aplenty. The Shark club is a better hang out for the more rabid fan & other pubs as well.

Are people really that stupid or shallow that they can't make their own determination on what is and isn't proper and practical with the team.

I can only speak for myself, but I do not need anyone to adore, admire or idolize to know what the team direction should be.

I see constant references to so called connected media types by several people here. Pratt, Botchford, MacIntrye, Dahliwal, Beich, Willes......on and on. Then there are great discussions associated with the referenced article. Then a week(s) later it is repeated, now as an actual real life situation, no proof, no validation, no confirmation from involved parties..but by god where there is smoke then it's an actual fact.

So Linden wanted to trade the Sedins 3 years ago, Edler and Tanev also, I didn't have to be reassured by Linden to know this true, Botch said so...or was it Pratt, doesn't matter really, because it really happened, I read it here.

I don’t know if I see I that way. This kind of thing happens. There was rumblings 2 years ago about Linden stepping down. Could be something totally innocent on both sides and it was just his time to move on.
