Satisfying the mob might be why the world is a wee bit (frank)ed up right now, don't you think?

"The due diligence by our front office was unprecedented. We are confident that Osuna is remorseful, has wilfully complied with all consequences related to his past behaviour, has proactively engaged in counselling, and willfully comply with our zero tolerance policy related to abuse of any kind," Astros general manager Jeff Luhnow said.

If that's enough for the Astros to acquire Osuna, it should have been enough for the Jays to keep him.

first of all, (frank) baseball.
2nd of all - really tired of this 'equality' bullpoop.

There's good people and there is bad people.
within those categories, there is a lot of variety.
if we want to push everything to 'equal' - it all becomes some artificial same flavor, which takes away the fun in life.

p.s.: "fairness" isn't an objective value.

I'm not saying you condoned it, I'm saying they're being stupid by going down that path.

Nobody knows what really happened and that's why the trial exists. It's the best tool we have to determine what did and didn't happen followed by an appropriate judgement. It's not perfect but it's the best we've got so far. It's the one the society runs by. If people are upset or offended by that, they can go vote and change it.

But innocent until proven guilty is what they should stand by. And this idea that if he played for the Jays again that the Jays "support domestic violence" is just dumb, which I was originally replying to. People make mistakes and he could have just as easily become an advocate for a good cause to help prevent people from making the same mistakes he did by staying with the team.

If it turns out he's guilty, he was suspended, he lost money, he lost respect and depending on the judge, he may lose freedom and have additional discipline to live with. Having him go around to every school in the GTA and telling kids to avoid making the same mistakes could have done the community just as much good as tossing him aside to appease the Twitter mob as a sacrifice to the PR Gods.

I'd rather the Jays taken that risk (attempt to redeem a promising young player with talent who may have made a mistake in his personal life) then the one they took with a bunch of spare parts and a PED user that they got in return to avoid the short term bad press.

- Unholy_Goalie

Agreed.
Horrible trade. A young stud for a PED user, a guy with a temper issue and a meh prospect.
But Osuna wasnt suspended 75 games for doing nothing.
Something serious occurred, we just dont know what or the extent.
These may be a case of the Rogers saying to the Jays, we dont want his second chance to be in a Jays uniform.
Also, according to Blair on 590, an Osuna trade to the Astros was in talks prior his charge.

What Osuna did is not a "Mistake" .. again (frank) that guy..who wants a piece of poop on their team?

Seriosly Fans will cry about Phil Kessel not backchecking and want him off the team for that but be fine with what Osuna did.

Granted it was bad enough to warrant a 75 game suspension...but we dont know what he did yet.

Let's transition into, do the Leafs have enough center depth outside of their glorious top 3?

But not yet convicted.
Hows this trade look if all charges are dropped or he is found not guilty?

As I mentioned above, it looks like the Astros and Jays were in talks about Osuna prior to this event occurring....obviously for a better return.

but he may have been traded either way.

None of what he did will matter if the Astros win another world series, just like it didnt matter what Chapman did when the cubs won.

Its a sh!tty trade, but it sounds like Rogers didnt want him back, so the may have had Jays no choice.
they're garbage anyway....end this season and lets get on to the next.

he's a good teammate and guy, and a terrible hockey player who contributes nothing to winning. He hurts a teams chances of winning

The Jays did the right thing and thats great.
it may end up going away.but guess what that doesnt mean he didnt do it. they said he is remorseful and was in counseling..why would innocent people do that?

The Jays must be confident there is truth to the charges.
Some fans dont care about DV enough..but imo baseball is secondary..luckily the Astros were willing to give up a decent package...but I dont really care about that. i cant cheer for poopty people
