I agree. Maybe he comes back to the Jays as a DH. Get rid of Morales and see if Donaldson has any interest in being a full time DH. - PatC80
He doesn't, because if he can stay injury free he's still an elite third baseman and will be paid as such. It's just wishful thinking that he comes back so we can trade him - which is all the Jays will want him for anyway.
We still get something if he turns down a qualifying offer - the team that picks him up has to give the Jays a pick in the next draft. |

Yet it was hysteria. A man could lose his career over a single allegation, with the burden of proof being unimportant. You always have to believe the victim, you know, without actually knowing who the victim really is.
You also misunderstand me. Men that were using their positions to force their will on women should face the consequences. It's unforgivable. - TrashPanda

What I want to know is what was the guy wearing? Was he flirting with her? Maybe he shouldn’t have put himself into that position in the first place.

Apparently he was wearing a pepto bismol suit that was too small for him.* This is clearly all on him for having poor fashion sense when interacting with women.

As crazy as it seems to you, it is possible that while some men needed to be outed for inappropriate behavior, that this movement could have been used to character assassinate some men that were undeserving of such treatment.
It really can be both. This why in courts they usually look for something called "proof". |

yeah, i know..
But i think it's time men show some humility..
Millenials or younger people (ones not wearing red hats) do a pretty good job of this. Its the GenX or older crowd who you see most of the bad poop.. |

What the hell does that mean though? How are men collectively showing humility by women unfairly accusing men of harassment and ruining their life with no proof?
The whole point I got from the Raccoon was simply that while many of the people being outed by that movement deserved it, it was also sometimes being highjacked for nefarious purposes or by women that really hadn't had anything inappropriate happen to them. I remember reading about a few cases where after all the information was out there, the women's own testimony pretty much exonerated the guys they were trying to go after. One story, other women were pretty much saying she just had a bad date and was pissed about it.
Sure, stand up to bad behavior by men, but make sure they are actually guilty. If you don't worry about proof, sure, you may get a few guys that really are guilty and that covered their tracks well, but you're also going to destroy the lives of some guys that haven't ever done anything wrong.
(frank) this whole, lump groups together and punish men for what other men did in the past. Judge people on their own actions. I'll show humility for myself, not the actions of some bumhole like Harvey Weinstein. I didn't assault those women, he did, so punish him, not me and every other male. |

No, he just wanted everyone to know how he was the best catcher in baseball history when he was a workable backup at best. Every broadcast. He also crossed a line when he started telling Jays managers and brass how to do their jobs. Smart? Not really. A loud and obnoxious bro? Definitely! - TrashPanda

I'm GenX and have never had any interest in harassing others, even though it has happened to me.
Let's take it on a case by case basis and not declare the guilt of an entire group, OK? |

I see it more as a mini revolution, kinda..
So it's gonna suck for a lot of men. Its should reset the rules. Some women will pull some shady poop. It's happened to a lot of people i know. To be fair, a lot of guys are rewarded by their behavior form women too lol.. so dumb.. i get it man.. Its (frank)ed up..

This makes sense I guess. Society isn't perfect and sometimes things will slip through the cracks. Good people will suffer and bad profit. Make things the best you can for everyone you can. |

More than 'kinda', that's exactly what it is - and it's long overdue.
Sick (frank)ers like Weinstein can't get their rocks off by abusing pretty young women anymore, and that's a good thing. Guys like Cosby can no longer get away with drugging and raping women who idolized him.
The bad part of it is the media cast all men in the same light, which you have repeated here. #MeToo became about any negative interaction with a man, not just how it started (powerful men using their power to force women to do things against their will, usually sexual). It left so many good men not knowing what to do, kind of in a state of paralysis. |

Are you suggesting treat everyone equal, or treat white people worse? I'm all for the equal part, not the "well, they deserve to be the ones getting the raw deal now" thing.
I mean, should we just make all white people now slaves, to make things even?
Yeah, in our history (perhaps more in U.S. than Canada) there is a lot of history of Whites abusing other races. I'm all for equality and putting that behind us, but I'm not interested in being made to suffer because of what other white people did before I was even born.
I'm not a fan of this new collective guilt people seem to be getting behind. I'll answer for my own actions and words, not someone else's. |

People aren't really getting behind collective guilt though. You aren't being made to suffer. A lot of white men are acting like the pendulum is swinging against them but it's not. It's like with marriage rights for gays, you had social conservatives saying oh what, are people gonna be allowed to marry dogs next? Well, no. There really isn't any kind of threat to white people at all. |

If I lived in the Southern States and my ancestors had a plantation, I would definitely make some rice crispy squares for anyone that came looking for reparations.
As my family is in Ontario and never had anything to do with slavery as far as I know, I can probably eat those myself.

“Oh no! We can’t spray black people with hoses anymore! Now that makes us the victums! Oh no! We have to treat women like they’re human instead of glorified dish washers! Now we’re the ones being mistreated! Oh good heavens! Where are our equal rights activists?”
