Your post reminds me of overenthusiastic Leafs fans when they list every prospect Toronto has, as if even half of them have genuine potential. We all read up on our prospects and get excited about them, but the fact is, most of them aren't nearly as talented as our (insert team colors) colored glasses tell us they are.

Most of the these guys you list won't even play a game in the NHL.

This is going to be an unpopular opinion, and Lord knows I was not a Domi fan, but Domi did his job there..

Berube, McCarty and Adam Burt on the ice fir the Flyers. Domi and 4 sweethearts for the Leafs.

Burt starts pounding Tomas Applecheeks Kaberle.

Domi needs to do just enough to get Burt off of Kaberle - which he did. Watch the tape - Domi isn't filling in Burt - he's just letting him know he is there.

Maybe you're right. I don't remember this incident myself. I hadn't really remembered Domi being as cheap or cowardly as he appears in that video.

Your explanation does make this video a little more understandable from what I remember of Domi, and gives this more context. Philly was well known for having goons back in the day too.

I get your point though. Fans only look at the ceiling of a high draft pick and always think they will reach that height.

I'll admit, I do have high hopes Lilybust can turn into a decent top 4 defender. Although unlike the guy you compared him too, I'm hoping Liljegren learns how to not be a tire fire in his own end.

My point about the Flyers guy was just that I've seen other enthusiastic posters raving about how amazeballs all their prospects are and then listing like 15 guys when probably only the first three or four are recognized by anyone who isn't a huge fan of that particular team and for the express reason that most of the others just aren't that impressive.

It's kinda sad how effective people are at passing along their hatred and old grudges to their children and future descendants.

My beleif is that if it happened so long ago that noone that was alive when it happened is around to tell you about it, it's probably time to move the (frank) on.
