Hahaha... how many people on here have pounded away on the narrative that Trevor Linden is just a yesman to FA and all that horse poop.... this place overflows with this nonsense... as usual... these fools are wrong... a product of not being able to think for yourself. - boonerbuck

It's possible but turned on the radio today and first thing I heard was Aquaman man saying we are hiring a new president and Benning saying I'm the president now.
 - belcherbd
Good for Benning, he deserved a promotion |

I don't know where the team veered off the direction of the rebuild . Nothing has changed from last week except the guy who was being ignored quit. - VANTEL

I think Bennings days are numbered . I still expect this to be his last year and that is okay . Half of us in here wanted Benning Linden gone and it is coming to life. |

Van hasn't had a prospect pool since Brian Burke era. Finally showing some promise again. |

They damn well should have a good prospect pool they have been horrible for the last 5 years.
Their moving out players at TDL has been non existent. Their draft picks in the first 3 years was average. They are really just turning things around in the last two years. |

I don’t see JB pushed out rather a different boss above him. I like Francis for some reason. He did ok with the limitations placed on him in Carolina. Low budget team & built up a nice group of D. Good nesh to gi with our F pool. If Lombardi i too like that with him having Pacific division experience. Maybe not all of the best reasons but who else is out there? |

Well, they are not going to make the playoffs this season with the current team. They will have to make some trades. That will take assets that other teams covet. It won't be Gagner, Erkisson, Gudbranson, Markstrom or Gaunce to get young, scoring veterans and puck moving defensemen. It will probably take young prospects and picks. That's if they want to make the playoffs. Anyway, we'll see what unfolds in the next few weeks. My guess is that Hughes is signed next week. At least they have a veteran 4th liner locked down for the next 4 years. - Marwood
There is no goddamn chance they trade picks or prospects. Aquilini is a Richard but he isn’t stupid. |

I am not going to join the horde that is panicking the loss of Linden.TL was unable to do what he wanted to do so change was made. Aquillini is a successful businessman ,regardless of anyones opinion of him. i doubt he thinks fans are idiots ( do not think i am saying he cares about us ), he is arrogant and has control issues, who knows? FA knows that ticket sales, merch sales and cable package sales will be hit if he tries to field crap designed to barely make the playoffs and implode. Canucks fans expect a run, not just to make the playoffs and be done . Selling off youth for aged vets buys you a year or two at most then a copy of what has happened the last 3 years repeats itself. FA will squeeze every ounce of profit he can out of us naturally and that is maximized or minimized by the product he puts out, like any other business ,whether its doughnuts or hockey. - Tigersmyle
There's a horde panicking about the loss of Linden? Where do you get the good glue or is it all in the bag selection?

Linden was under contract. He cant walk off the job because of the first order he doesn't like.

How did he get out of his contract yesterday? |

If they were going to move picks or prospects they would have done it to acquire Hanifin
Benning has said they are not trading high picks and they will continue to draft and develop.
He has also said if they ern a spot they will play and in the past has moved out Prust Higgins and last year did find a spot for Boeser in the top 6
I expect he will do the same this year.

I would be happy with a new boss tweaking the scouting ( pro and amateur) and getting rid of the deadwood and moving the ahl team to Abbotsford. After the current agreement expires. Utica could be our ECHL affiliate if they were in agreeable. Canucks having a farm team close by would allow prospects access to better training and medical and give them a chance to grow while we watch. They would be very popular i am sure in terms of attendance.

I never though Benning was going to finish the 2019 season but it very well may be at the end of this season that he's let go.

The media now has licence to write every stupid rumour they can imagine.
This place wont be boring at least but it will be a low point for credibility for a while.

The fact that I need to be told to go look for it tells you how much credibility I give the fan base these days. It's awkward enough tending this flock here on HB. I'm dumping little brown pellets out of my rubber boots constantly. I couldn't imagine being on Twitter right now...lol.
