Pittsburgh for both Crosby and lemieux .

Edmonton for McDavid for sure.

Bustfullo tried for McDavid and failed, their gm admitted it.

Please accept the truth and don't resist your fate.

Crosby was a fluke, there was no season.

Edmonton finished 8 points ahead of Buffalo but won the lottery. Arizona finished lower then Edmonton too.

Dont get the uninformed all excited here prezzy. I think this is a good move for quinn first and foremost. I think this is also great for our chances at top 5 next year. A good michigan team and staff, world juniors in vic and van, signs his elc at the end of his season. Everyone wins.

patience with the prospects. we want to see them in the lineup, but I don't want to see them pushed to the forefront and relied upon to produce in their first or second season pro.

even when fans/media look at the team before the season starts and don't really expect much, once the season starts, people want to see wins. topsy turvy.

Yep exactly. We cry for a rebuild, but want our prospects to be in the lineup asap, its so counterintuitive. I want whats best for quinn, short term and long, which will translate to the best for the organization.

I think most understand the approach management has been taking for the past few years. Draft and develop. Slightly different then the full blown tear down rebuild the fans were wanting.

I was accused of following a false narrative and believing the MSM for thinking that quinn hughes should be going back to michigin for another year. Linden is gone, and if we are to believe the stories, this is a good thing for the direction of our rebuild.

I remember hearing about a year and a half ago Linden was on the radio and told Halford and Brough Jim can not just go ahead and make a trade or signing that everything has to be approved by him and FA. I really thought Bennings days were numbered back then. Benning and Trev seldom showed up at the same time . It caught my eye and seemed odd . It was right when Trevor said yes we are now using the word rebuild. A few days later Jim came out and said not so fast.

I always though it was Jim in trouble.

Six months ago in Feb FA told Jim to report to him directly . The beginning of the end for Trevor.

Hughes going back to Michigan is what I expected (and hoped) would happen -- it's the best choice for his development.

I would have loved to see what he could do at the NHL level (obviously incompatible with staying NCAA eligible) to start the season. The NCAA Frozen Four concludes April 11-13th in Buffalo next spring (https://www.ncaa.com/cham...hockey-men/d1/future-info) and if Michigan gets there, Hughes will not get a chance for to join the team before the 'Nucks last game (regular season) on 6th April against St. Louis.

See you in at the WJC and in the Fall of '19, Quinn! Can's wait

So TL wanted the rebuild, JB the draft and develop and win, FA wanted playoffs?

I don't think it is as black and white as that.

I think Jim wanted to rebuild the top 6 and top 4 D and goalie of course but he wanted them surrounded by a competitive team. Not a playoff team but a team that would protect and teach . I think Trevor was more lets tear this down

It seems Jim doesn't want to throw nine rookies to the wolves finish last and try for top 3 draft pick. He wants to bring in players one or two at a time when they are ready and move out a vet.

I think media and fans are having a field day saying Canucks want the playoffs

I think Toronto was the only team to purposefully put together a roster that sucked. The rest of the teams have been like Van and just bad.
- manvanfan

Dude, Buffalo was trading any goalie that won more than 2 games. I'm far from a Leafs fan but the Sabres tank job was more blatant than anyone i've ever seen in any sport.

Doughty is one of the few dmen in the league that is better defensively than Tanev. Blocking shots is overrated, old school and doesn't fit as well in today's game.
- neem55

What he is saying is that it is very difficult to get to the NHL, and as difficult to stay there. That a player (like Tanev) isn’t going to go out of his way to teach someone to replace him, given that the manager has come right out and said he will waive (send to the minors) a Vet who looses his job to a young player.

There’s not much to tear down, they kind of ground this thing to nothing while trying to remain competitive. Now that the twins are gone maybe they will hit bottom. Or maybe they get marginally better with a slightly quicker team who can all play the coaches system.

The speculation that Benning and FA are fast tracking is a bit humorous . Benning refused to give up the 7 th OA for Hanifin and even though we needed a top 6 center desperately we only offered Sutter Jake and Tryamkins rights . Benning did not want to part with the 7 th OA .

Again the only way media can sell is to raise hysteria.

Yeah it really has been all torn down already. We only have a handful of players that played in our last playoff appearance, and now the guys that would qualify most as needing to be "torn down" were brought in by this regime.

Good question, I bought them last Dec for about $400 each...I think, I saw that the tournament in Vancouver put up a bunch at half price recently. But their packages were like $1600+

I think you are way off base. The contract signings and trades do not suggest a slow burn to completion, they suggest a quick fix for relevance. That’s just my opinion. For me it isn’t about Benning Vs Linden, both guys have been saying one thing and doing another.

Insane prices. It's still junior games.
