Are you the sole reason we have to hear about the Leafs 24 hours a day in TSN, Sportsnet and other channels?.

Despite the press conference being an obvious damage control attempt I thought their were some interesting comments from both Benning and Green.

Specifically Benning went all in and made it clear he will waive or trade vets. This message has been inferred before but never been this strongly stated IMO. I tend to believe this means, they are already penciling in some young players.

When asked how the offence was going to be replaced, Liepsic and Goldobin were specifically mentioned which also makes me think they are not going to be willing to lose either on waivers.

Finally it was pointed out that there were 14 forwards and the question was asked if moves were going to be made. Green's ignored the question and made it clear he sees many more than 14 forwards who will be vying for those 12-13 spots.


I still think Benning is an idiot, that Linden is a legend but didn't belong in mgmt and that FA is a twat but can appreciate he never has hesitated to spend money on this team. I have hope that this year's camp will be a very competitive environment where the best 23 players end up on the team.

This is a safe place for Canuck fans to discuss issues they wish, including the dislike of the Leafs. I do not, “as a local” become influenced by Vantel’s leaf posts, I dislike the team all on my own, the same with every other leaf hater on this site. Don’t care for his posts or any other anti leaf post then don’t respond.

My problems are past owners & their fans filling the seats when horrible. TSN & Sportsnet are simply too obnoxious & obsessive about anything Toronto. Next up is any talk of cups won in the dark ages. Other than that no probs with any fans for any team if they wanna chat Canucks hockey here. Stick to good points of view & how to improve. Never a fan of any fan of any team citing past problems if no help for the present.

I go to the Leafs thread trying to discuss their need for D & who they want or how to get them but usually get smeared or insulted. Trying to be objective gets branded as trolling.

That's not how it works around here and you know it. Every team's fanbase has their own safe space. You guys have two of them.

I hope they dont trade Tanev, i think he is more valuable to us mentoring guys like Hughes, Juolevi and Rathbone in future. For what you can get for him compared to what he can do helping the kids, he seems more valuable here.
