Aquilini is an absolute boob but I'm not buying the 'poor Trevor the martyr to the mission' narrative many in the Van media are pumping. I think it is likely true he recently has pushed for a more patient approach, but he also approved the Eriksson contract, Gudbranson trade and those crap deals last year. And his messaging has been horrible, either dim-witted (which I doubt) or dissembling (more likely the case). It is good for him that he is out of there, but he should not have been in there in the first place. He took it as a vanity project. He's responsible for this mess of the past 4 years too, maybe not the most recent FA signings, but a lot of crap has piled up in the outhouse under his watch.

I've said it before. I loved Linden as a player and he seems like a good guy. Nothing personal, but he did a crap job as President of this team (let's not forget who really wanted to hire and retain WD after all).

Good luck to Trev, and here's hoping they did put someone with real upper level mgmt experience in charge.

We’ll see. I actually think that Benning is improving. His first couple of years were a series of bad to horrible to God Awful decisions, but I think that he’s slowly figuring it out. Or maybe I’m just becoming an optimist in my old age.
