Not sure Linden and ownership always saw eye to eye. Believe he would have stepped down if told to gas WD after his second year behind bench.

I’d guess FA meddles & doesn’t give free rein for ppl to operate. TL faced a lot of adversity & had to juggle his bosses ill found agenda. The pressure was untenable given the circumstances. Next Pres won’t want his hands tied or the hire won’t be the best man for the job. If FA has to be hands on still we are screwed. Get out of the way.

Good move for you guys. He was (frank)ing useless. Get rid of Benning and assemble a top notch management team, which I believe a team like the Nucks wouldn't have a hard time attracting.

Probably starts with ex Leafs AGM, Hunter.

Never happen

Our Owner is still one of the biggest problems and would only hire the old guard just to get back into the 1st round of the playoffs.

His biggest priority is building his 30,000 sq/ft $65 million home in LA

I lived in some squalid basement suite off of Kingsway & Victoria. We called it 'The Gateway to Hell'.

He'd be no different than JB. Amateur scout by trade, nothing else by qualification.

No argument there but a Pres is a hockey man who hires good ppl. A GM is the nuts & bolts of it all. Qualifications are overrated. Can he do the job does. Neely Sakic Snow etc had 0 qualifications. As for a GM he is a talent hound for me. Contracts are important but help can be hired there. Our cap is in good shape.

Yes, that's it. Loved him as a player, and I'm old enough to go way back to well before the start of his career. But he was never qualified to be the President - no experience in hockey management - and was hired for PR purposes. His leadership has been incoherent - he was out of his depth. He also did not really do a real search for GM (he had Benning in mind the whole time) or coach (WD was his choice from day 1)....didn't do his due diligence.

This was a vanity project for him. I have nothing against him personally, but as a team president he was the bad choice from the beginning.

I actually have less issue with Benning - not that I don't have lots of criticism - but he's more of an example of the peter principle. He's just slightly over his head but I do believe brings value to the management team. My hope is - and with Aquilini it's probably a longshot - that they'll hire a really experienced and qualified President to lead now. fingers crossed.

You don't say...you ever go to the VicWay? It was a great place when you're wasted at 2am....or for a hangover cure the next day.

Oh Marwood, Marwood, Marwood.

You're one mean mofo, I'll give you that.

I'm commending a move the Nucks made. It was a good move. This is a happy day for all. There should be no animosity. Today, the Nucks move forward, which is good for the NHL.
