I really don't find it a big deal that a guy I didn't like that has no previous experience decides to walk away.
He came in as a PR guy and tried to learn on the fly and was told by his boss let the hockey people handle decisions so he packed up his gym bag and left with hurt feelings .
Big deal. - VANTEL
FA advising let hockey ppl handle decisions.

All I take out of this is FA trusts Bennings decisions more on hockey ops that Lindens
What smoking gun do you have that FA is medling

I really suggest you go read the province column on this instead of offering up your wrong opinion.
This is not a two week event. This has been going on for over a year and a half where Benning has been dealing directly with FA. You are the biggest pom pom waiver every friggen day for the last two years supporting every single move and all of a sudden we have a meddling owner?
How come now he is meddling and for every night and day for the last two years you are telling us we are wrong and shooting down any thoughts or suggestions by everyone.
This has come to a head seeing Benning wants to try to move someone and Linden wants to wait and now his feelings are hurt.

Not sure he was the problem - VanHockeyGuy
Don't think he was the problem. Interesting times to be sure.
I was kind of wondering if something like this would happen after the Sedins decided to pack it in.
Still deciding whether this is a positive or a negative for the club at this stage right now.
Excitement is high over the prospects but now this...hopefully not a huge distraction going in to seasons start. |

Regardless of the obvious managerial issues the team won't be that good again this year so there's hope in that they'll at least get another good first round pick.
At the end of the day it's not really a difficult task for the GM and Head Scout to pick a highend prospect in the top six or seven of the draft.
Continue to build and try to ignore the sideshow along the way. Even poorly managed teams can still put great building blocks together. |

From what I heard Benning and JB were fine no problem but Benning was not reporting to Linden he was told to go directly to deal with FA.
Linden was pissed that he didn't have any say on hockey ops - VANTEL

Wtf? Take a pill.
You carry on about the Sedins forever & no solution to get your wishes. I wanted Edler forced out. Pom pom waiving? Hardly. Quote me on this fiction. Sutter? EG? Who what when where other i like our drafting & not every pick or trade is a raging success.

Pres of hockey ops isnβt hockey ppl?
TL didnβt play hockey?
An idiot owner should shut his pie hole.
Stay out of hockey decisions period.
Hire ppl & fire them or buzz off. |

I have the same questions. The situation was improving, prospect pool growing, deadwood jettisoned, implemented a plan to rebuild through draft.
Perfect time for another Canuck implosion. Never fails. They are their own worst enemy. |

What if Trevor was the one to convince the twins it was time to step away, finally allowing the team to move on and actually get younger, and FA had a 5year contract on the table for them? Would that make him your hero? |

All good points & the game is played on the ice like Ferraro said. TL gone wonβt change that. FA still here is the probable problem.
JB will do what he does TG will run his team as he sees fit. That is if hockey people are running the show. |

The timing to me seems off. It came across as a little unexpected. I don't think it is a bad thing that Linden is no longer here, but I did like what him and Benning were putting together.
As for Francesco, yes he meddles, but at the end of the day he is a fan like us and it sucks to see your team suck year after year. Sure he meddles, but as Vantel said - which multi billion dollar owner wouldn't? If I was the owner, I'd be trying to get us back to contenders as fast as possible - sure corners might be cut, there isn't just one way to rebuild. |

yes there is one way to rebuild and thats why this team wont be in the playoffs for years.. as we continue to get worse all the teams around us are adding players and getting better.
enough of the excuses had this team been rebuilt properly we would be on the up swing now and instead we are years away. |

it'll only be a serious distraction going into next year if Benning does something REALLY dumb out of the blue over the rest of the summer.
now, if things are a mess on the ice by Christmas it'll definitely get dug up again |

Linden would want to find the way to do things where he tries his best to make everyone 60% happy.
Ray would have his plan and wouldn't give a poop how anyone felt about it |
