Didn't read it, but I heard from a source close to the issue that FA is the one pushing for the playoffs each year and went to Benning last TDL, over trevor's head, to try to push for a spot while trevor had directed Benning to trade both edler and tanev as well as anybody who could get them draft picks, including the twins.

TL has just been bidding his time since then because he didn't want to be FA's yes man.

Yeah. A lot of fans from other teams thought it was a bad move. Choice was Dubas or Hunter. Shanny knew the other would walk/take a job elsewhere unfortunately.

Shanny picked Dubas. It's hard to know who was responsible for which draft pick over the last 3 years or so. Dubas fans say Dubas. Hunter fans say Hunter and vice versa for busts

Yup. Out of our minds usually between 2-3am. As we get off the bus, one of the roommates rolls one beer towards the back to watch the punk rockers and assorted transients erupt into a brawl as the bus pulls away. Vancouver in the good old days.

Mark Hunter had a lot to do with where the leafs are now. I wouldnt vote blindly on a person because of his past employment if i thought he would have a positive influence on the direction of the organization and team

Yes, but neutering your president to try for the playoffs when you're 10 points out at the deadline is ridiculous. The team would be way farther ahead if they'd traded the twins, edler and tanev for, don't laugh, 2x 2firsts, 2 seconds, 2 thirds. Cash retained on one of the twins of course. Offers were on the table, FA and JB wanted the playoffs.

No argument there but a Pres is a hockey man who hires good ppl. A GM is the nuts & bolts of it all. Qualifications are overrated. Can he do the job does. Neely Sakic Snow etc had 0 qualifications. As for a GM he is a talent hound for me. Contracts are important but help can be hired there. Our cap is in good shape.

Sakic's tenure is far from anything to point to.
