Ryan has managed to average about 40 points a year. He is a marginal 2nd line winger. He also seems to be hitting that always-injured stage. His attitude is questionable.

He is not worth 4.75, not even close.

evander kane is a 40 pt, often injured winger with a (frank)ing HORRIBLE attitude, and he just got a nice new 7 mil contract..........just saying.

in today's market bobby ryan is worth 4-5 mil......he'd EASILY get that as a UFA.

Every player always says they love the town they are playing in.

It means nothing.

It amazes me that people still do not seem to know to filter out like 95% of what pro athletes or GMs say.

it's impossible to judge what the return will be.....when was the last time a player of this calibre was traded?

significantly worse dman have been traded for massive hauls in the recent past, there is no reason to think that Karlsson won't get a similar return....if he's traded.

I honestly can't think of a "generational player" who's been traded in the last 15-20 years.......there might be 1, but he's not coming to mind. it's hard to judge what the return will be.

the sens already know that fan support is dwindling, not for the team but for ownership and management.........if they trade karlsson for anything less than a haul, they can basically count on that building being half empty every game. they'll lose more money in ticket sales then they will save from paying Karlsson what he deserves. Melnyk is an idiot, but I imagine he has a basic understanding of math and economics....he has to know that this trade/contract will have a MASSIVE impact on his bottom line.

I can't be bothered.

We will know when he is traded, or not. I sincerely hope he signs an extension with Ottawa.

given the deals that have been handed out, I'm sure that someone would take a chance on Ryan at atleast 4 mil over 2-3 years.

when he's healthy, ryan has shown that he's still a good player......obviously not what he was in Anaheim, but he can still easily be a 20 goal, 50 pt guy.

teams would definitely take a chance on him.

look at what guys like komarov, plekanec, perron (who had a good year last year, but is basically a 30pt guy) got....they're all 4-5 mil. I'm sure there are a couple of guys out there who would pay Ryan on a short term deal, hoping he'd regain his form.

the guy is DEFINITELY overpaid right now, but I think he'd be a good gamble at 4 mil on a short term deal.

He's gonna end up keeping Sergachev and parting with Cal Foote. Yzerman is a monster.

Likely.

Outside of Vasy, our 1st rounder tends to be trade bait. That said, Al Murray gets a flarkton of value out of every other round, so all good.
