They're are either young or cheap or both which is fine since they are good enough to play 25 games. Leafs don't need to win every game they play. - HealthyScratch6
But they won't because if they suck Babcock won't play them, like he did with McElhinney last year who was having the best year of his life and still only played 18 games.
Babcock would go 82-0 if he could. |

Sign Vermette and have him play as the back-up, trade for Karlsson and have him as 4c. This GM thing is easy. - Steven_Seagull

Terrible idea did you see how much he makes. We don't need to pay for a backup goalie - HealthyScratch6
I know. Just a bad attempt at a joke. |

Mason: career SV% of .911
Pickard: career SV% of .913
oh - Steven_Seagull
Leave out how many games they played, the GAA and how many of those games were as a starter vs. as a back-up.
It's a cute attempt to skew the numbers though, as ineffective as it was. |

Picard will get picked up on waivers - HealthyScratch6
Doubt it. He was an AHL back-up last year. Nobody touched him last time. And even if somebody did, it's not a big loss. |

If it's less than 1,000 then they need to win more Norris trophies. |

Yeah I know it's easier to use career numbers, but in perspective Mason had an incredible rookie year, went down the drain playing on a TERRIBLE Columbus team, traded to Philly and his first 3 years his numbers rivaled some of the best in the NHL, then finally took a dump and rolled around in it.

Also less proven which is why the veteran, former starters would be the more reliable option. It's far from irrelevant. Just because you got backed into a corner of your own illogical thoughts doesn't mean it's irrelevant.
Ryan Miller was a starter for the majority of his career and last year became a back-up in Anaheim. He had a great year and played 28 games which kept Gibson from doing what Andersen had to do last year. |

What corner did I get backed into? I couldn’t care less if the Leafs get Lehtonen or Mason or if Pickard is the back-up next year. Just posting some numbers. Odd how defensive you got over nothing. Hmm... |

So what you're saying is that Lehtonen and Mason have been pooptier for a longer period of time. No thanks.
It should also be noted that Pickard put up his numbers on a VERY poor team.
Just because we have cap doesn't mean we have to piss it away for a marginal upgrade AT BEST.
Pickard's sample size is big enough so you can STFU about that too. |

No, Lehtonen and Mason have actually been much better for much longer. They've both been starters in the NHL, something none of the current Leafs back-ups have done successfully.
Lehtonen and Mason didn't play for defensive juggernauts either. And again, Pickard's sample size is a joke compared to two guys who played 400-600 games as starters. |
