Here's an idea.

Let's all just agree and move on.

Simply respond "ok" and nothing else.

- Aetherial

We should all just respond ok to his posts from now on. A couple of us start doing it and people will follow. Then he will leave

He's trying to tell you in a not so thinly veiled way to go get shot in a mass shooting. He's a quality individual, as you can tell.

Jiri Crha faced that many by Christmas lol...poor guy...for sure a candidate for PTSD. I'm gonna search him up to see how he actually fared. I just remember what seemed like an onslaught of shots night after night.

He's actually not high on the list at all in total shots against.

Yes.

You will never change his mind and you cannot out-last him or out argue him. Of you can bothered to work him into a corner, that doesn't matter either it will never get acknowledged.

There is absolutely nothing to be gained by saying anything more than just "ok".

I had edited my post for further explanation.

my point is that # of shots are irrelevant - now seems you understand this to some extent, so stop spitting out the bs argument please.

a goalie playing all 82 games for his team during the regular season with 20shots/game is expected to be more worn out at end of season than a goalie playing 55 games with 30shots/games against.

teams that give up lots of shots against tend to not win SC - nothing to do per se with the goalie getting tired of facing more shots per game.

- plantheparade

It's both. When you rely on your goalie to make too many saves, too many times, it catches up to him. Most won't admit it but Vasilevskiy admitted to being tired last year and he wasn't working as much as Andersen was. Over 82 games, 33 shots per game does make a goalie tired. Andersen ran out of gas last year, you could see it in his poopty play down the stretch and at times in the playoffs.

Leafs have 12 back-to-backs coming season.

So the backup will only need to play 12 plus a few other games (ottawa and some other weak teams).

McSavey did brilliant in his 18 games last season, and the expectation at this moment is that he could definitely bring a similar performance (as in points) as a backup this season.

There is no issue here. on to next subject.

nothing to do with # of shots.
it has more to do with the fact that andersen is not an elite goalie who is known to not handle playoff pressure as well as some of the elite nhl goalies.

playing andersen 50 games coming season does not influence one bit that weakness

Odds of him replicating his career year are slim to none. If the Leafs are still giving up 30+ shots a game, the back-up should be playing 25-30 games.

Wrong again. Physical and mental fatigue play a part in his inability to be 100% sharp when the games matter.

Even if what you're saying is partially true and he's not that good, all the more reason to have a more capable back-up to either push him harder, give him more rest or straight up replace him.

But the most likely scenario is that you're wrong, he is a good goalie, he's just overworked and needs a back-up who can eat up more minutes and shots so Andersen doesn't have to face a league high in shots.

Alright Max? Great.
